Red Bull KTM to engage another MX2 rider...

... alongside Prado for next year. Seems like they wanted Brian Moreau at first but he already has a good contract with bud racing. They've been talking to Wilson Todd and Tom Vialle since then it seems.

You forgot to mention: "according to Geoff Meyer."

I got another recent source saying that Vialle is signed, and it is reliable.

Factory ride for Vialle? Hmm. He didn't set the world on fire last season, so weird decision if true.

if you look at his results , very similar to Prado's results in EMX 250... EMX is tough class ,
Prado came out allright , so far KTM has done a great job in MX2 and picking riders ..

One of the bad riders in the mx2, does not have 20% of Dad's talent yet

But also has direct KTM support and they have been trying to place him for the last few months with the promise of semi factory equipment to whichever team takes him....

Would of thought more along the line of Dankers? From NL, will fit in well with Herlings and Jonass.

Wasn't Zach Pichon typically finishing 10th-15th?

I knew he didn't have a great year. A couple nice motos if I remember correctly. But all around pretty forgettable.

Zach has a lot of talent. He lacks his dad's determination, not skills.

I got another recent source saying that Vialle is signed, and it is reliable.
The source being Gatedrop.com Wink you can find the article here.

Dang Andy you are really the new Geoff Meyer... don't be proud of it.

Only confirmed riders for KTM are Herlings Red Bull, and Cairoli and Prado De Carli.

Coldenhoff is at Standing Construct with Monticelli and Anstie

Maybe a little bit early for a factory spot. Hasn't even raced a 250 4stroke yet. Also he couldn't get consistent results in EMX125. Rene Hofer would be a better choice then. He pretty much dominated EMX125 before he got injured.

What about Hofer? He signed an extension with KTM a while ago, and there was rumors about him joining the factory team already in the summer. Vialle had good motos in EMX and looked good in my opinion, but it would still be a bit of a reach to me. Would seem odd for the biggest team in the paddock to wait this long to sign a rider.

The Jonass to Husky rumor was reportedly confirmed by KTM personel after Assen when they held a bike test for the media. I would guess that Coldenhoff won’t be coming back, and Van Horebeek is the only big name guy who hasn’t officially signed yet so I would guess he takes the spot.

And Hofer rode a 250f all year long in the ADAC series and lead the series before his injury, beating EMX250 front runners and moto winners on a regular basis.

KTM has faced some budget cuts in MXGP and in the US for off-road racing. For MXGP they will only have Herlings and Cairoli. It was more cost effective to move Jonass over to Husky alongside Jasakonis.

I dont think struggles is the right word, i think the term re alignment of business ethos and structure is more accurate

I’m sorry but I don’t believe that’s the real reason.

Offroad motorcycle sales are down here in the US.

We just lost the only KTM shop here in Murrieta, strange that KTM USA is just up the street, but no dealer for 60 miles in any direction.

He's like 16/17 years old.. think he will get there in a few years. Vialle has some impressive races, so sounds like a good deal. Anyone know how old he is? Seems like Moreau has a really good contract with Bud Racing. Do they have enough resources/money to keep him?
