I've looked but haven't seen anything other than wild numbers thrown up on facebook, does anybody know about what the attendance was?

MXGP.com says 81,700 weekend attendance. So that must be Saturday + Sunday. That would seem to indicate under 60k on Sunday IMO.
Had the weather been better that number would be higher i bet. I know lots of people that didn't go because they knew how bad it was gonna be.

MXGP site isnt a very reliable source if you look for attendance numbers ..
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Maybe so, but then what is? That number seems accurate if you combine both days.
I hope they did well also because its not easy. Remember attendance is not ticket sales but people through the gate and from working at Glen Helen there are a lot of comp tickets that get counted into total attendance. There was a lot of Industry comp at the race.
I to wish it would have been drier for everyone. Great Event but no one can do a thing about the weather.
I've been to many, probably 20, Red Bud Nationals over the years and Saturday's crowd was about the size of a typical (last 10 years) national crowd size. Sunday was the most people I've ever been a part of at Red Bud. RC's last season, when he and JS7 battled until Stew endoed was the previous biggest crowd imo (crowd estimates for that day were close to 30,000). I'd say Sunday at MXoN was probably 20% bigger than that national. I'm guessing close to the 40,000 range.

I think you're underestimating it. People were filled in at areas that aren't used for spectating at the national. One example being where the off-camber into uphill and then back down before the tabletop was. The vendor area was much more crowded then the nationals as well.

the attendance numbers of youthstream have been mocked for years for being a bit optimistic

I don't find that to be relevant. It's a much different situation when you're working with MX sports and Redbud. Were you there and are going to refute that 25k-30k were in attendance on Saturday and 50k-55k on Sunday? Or are you butthurt that it pulled the attendance of a European MXON?

if it was 100K , i would be cool with it you really think i would be butthurt to see a US MXON attract more people compared to a euro MXON ?? that would be sad he , its actually sad you think that way ..
only thing i find odd is that the whole season the youthstream numbers of attendance at a race were mocked and to be unreal and ridicioulous and now the numbers all of a sudden seem to be on point when its a USA race
thats weird , no matter how you look at it ... its that selective part of US fans i quess

You really need to find a hobby.
Wait a minute....
Did the discussion merely of the attendance numbers at the MXoN just devolve into the US versus the Euros?!!

I'm fine with that. See my post above re: 25-30k Saturday and 50-55k Sunday. I came in here to answer with the official MXGP attendance number and sorry I brought Europe up in my defense of that number. It seems the dude from NDL is trolling though.

You’re so predictable that you don’t even need to post. Just trying to save you some time and help you enjoy life a little, friend.
I heard it was the biggest attendance of a MXON, ever. Most of the locals I asked said it was at least 20-30% more, also heard 70K total. Even though Glen Helen is much closer to me, I was much more excited to fly to Michigan and be with the awesome Red Bud fans.
SoCal doesn't deserve this race, they get too spoiled and I think Washougal crowds, Red Bud, Budd's Creek are amazing places to have the MXON, with fans that really appreciate it.
Reeeeed Buuuuuuuud!!
Thanks to the track owners for a great event, they did their best to keep the crappers clean, and even had a few tractors to tow us out of Lot B, and had lots of food options, fur sue guys that were "ruffin' it".
The stripper shouldn't have been arrested though....
