I will be heading from California to Michigan in early October on business, so we will be able to hit Redbud for MXDN (with my 10 and 12yr old boys). I know it is really early, but was hoping for a little intel on the track. How much can you see from anyone spot? I am hoping at least 50%, but I have never been and we were curious as it is hard to tell on TV. Also, what are the best places to sit on the track? The boys aren't tall, so hopefully there are some decently steep hillsides that will allow somewhat unobstructed viewing? Anyone know if they will allow coolers in to the event? What about a guesstimate of how the crowds will compare to the nationals? I think I have heard they see 20 to 25K at the national? At motocross of nations in Europe I hear they have been pulling in 40k to 60k (I remember hearing 60K at Ernee), but I have no idea what will happen at Redbud..... Hopefully it is a good size crowd, I am sure a good number of Euros will show up with the proximity to Chicago. Can Redbud handle large crowds and still provide decent viewing? I think that's it for now, thanks for the info!!
Not sure on coolers as we would usually fill up our cargo shorts with some adult beverages and wander through out the day.
Defiantly a must visit for any moto fan.
Most fan friendly track on the tour.
People that have never been to the national already telling me they are going to this event.
It's going to be epic.

At the Euro MXdN's i've been to we have such huge crowds that also can restrict viewing and getting a spot trackside is impossible unless you're there hours before the first practice.
I'm still contemplating coming over for Redbud - any idea what the weather is like there in Oct?
Jimfunn the weather can be both fantastic or not great in October. Fall in Michigan is really pretty either way.
I wish they would bring back the downhill triple and double double in the infield. That section was so much better than the current table top. But the uphill triple after the ski jump is a nice addition.
Our usual MXdN trip makers will be in attendance.
If you can get the VIP tickets it is well worth it. If I was going to the MXDN I'd borrow the money if I didn't have it! And I mean the full-ride, top of the line VIP tickets. You'll be rubbing elbows with the riders and eating and drinking very well with great seats.
Pit Row
See ya there!
Fuck the racing we want to see some hardcore partying and nonsense. You lads don't get the chance all that often enmass in a full international scale, so you better make it count.

Not sure what the euro term is but you will see some rednecks or bogans for sure.
Thanks
