When hitting a jump I cant for the life of me figure out when to row back to compensate for the rebound. Is it only if I chop the throttle off once my rear tire has left the ground?

Basically when your rear wheel leaves the dirt you should "row back" OR extend your legs out (if you are in a squat as you leave the ramp), if you search youtube for "slow motion motocross jump" you will get the idea.

Each jump is different, best thing I can tell you is to just hit the jump with a steady throttle and stay neutral and you should see how the jump effects your bike. Obviously don't hit the thing full speed at first but work your way into it.

Also, one of the best things to do is just go sit by a jump and watch and listen to guys jumping the jump in question. See how they are hitting it and listen to how hard they are/aren't on the gas. I cant tell you how many times I have done that and went out and hit a jump perfectly for the first time because I watched guys for 10 minutes.

The more you ride and get comfortable the more you will just have that natural instinct. Takes seat time though, so go out and ride.

I set my rebound so the forks are slow enough to not come nose high and the rear so it will just come higher than the front when I het the jump in the attack position. This way I can use body language to compensate. The fact is if you don't have your suspension set up properly ie spring rate and valving for you no amount of clicker adjustment or body language will do anything except compensate for your ill performing suspension.

Type in "seat bounce" into the search site window, you will have all the answers.
