Any body have a certain reason they choose the number they put on their bikes?, or leave the numberplates blank. I have some buddies use their friends numbers in rememberence of them. Or do you use the AMA number assigned, or local region number assigned. Maybe the number of your favorite rider. Cant wait til A-1.

I used to be 201, my brother's number backwards. For years now though I have been 105. Kept it because I liked the looks of it Cool

My dad is #14 for the same reason.

I rocked the 14 for most of my mini career until I had to run the #27 at an international championship race and just stuck with it.

Just ordered my new number backgrounds though and I'm switching to #29, officially in honor of getting married Oct 29, but secretly because Andrew Short is one of my favorite riders.

My dad raced a couple of times in the early 60's with the number 22. I started racing in 75 so I just used my dad's number and have been using it since. The past two years at Loretta's, I was fortunate enough to keep my number. One of my nicknames on the back of my MX pants used to be CATCH 22. Good post

Haven't really "tried" to sell it, but it is for sale. $2400.00 for anyone interested. Might have something to do with my packrat status I've achieved with the wife. She's considered hiring me a clutter counselor and I might even have my own episode of Hoarders. Stay tuned...

It was the number my dad used to run back when he raced. And now that he got himself a vintage bike we are both running the same number.

21 years agao bought my first race bike (1988 cr 125) came with the digits 448. I ran that my first race however when I got my cmc license it said 441- Made the change and raced a season. Next year signed up for 441 and the license came back 442...I held firm as few people knew my name but my number well that was a different story- I think that number will probably end up on my headstone if my ashes aren't spread over Washougal....for what it's worth

81. My best friend nicks number before he passed. I asked his parents permission if they would mind if I started racing with his number to honor his memory.

Back in 87 the CMA assigned me 38 in the schoolboy class.
In 88 I moved up to 125's and couldn't have a 2 digit number so they assigned me 381.
In 89 I began an 12 year hiatus from the sport.. when I came back I requested 381 but it was taken.. and so was 382...and that is why I am 383. Pretty boring actually...

Youngest son was a grant Langston fan when Grant was on KTM's. Ran 111 on both his KTM 50's, RM65, CR85 and back again on the KTM.

I originally wanted 132 because that was my BMX number for national events (after my 2nd season I had picked up single digit state and regional plates) but the local organization had a rule that novices had to run 300 and up. I sat there one night, and cut out some #s and a mini plate to see how different #s would look. 757 looked cool and was available, so i decided to run it.

in my stock car I run #49 originally because i was trying to get around the system. I thought they always did qualifying low to high or high to low and figured if i was in the middle I would never be the 1st to qualify nor the last. #50 was already taken, so I picked 49. Unfortunately I didnt know they occasionally go 49 down of 50 up haha.

My dad used to be Randy Moodys practice mechanic/buddy and just rode his old bikes, and he was #401, then when my brother was born my dad just had my brother run 401, then when I was born he was gonna make me #400 but that would be to much like the Alessi brothers (800, 801 vs 400, 401). So my dad gave me the number 410, and I think it looks cool. 41 is also a good number and I also really like 10, so 410 is a good number, i'll only change it unless I earn a national number.

269, I first got assigned the number for Ponca but decided to run it full time. A few years later I had a friend pass away on his bike and his number was 17. 2+6+9=17 so it has a double meaning now.
