Probably going to get flamed by some of you..........This is Don Leib, with Rocket Exhaust and proud father of Michael Leib. We have been at this racing game for many years and I'm sure you know how tough it is. I am looking for a dealer to help out with a couple of bikes (14 or 15 CRF250's) and some parts. In return we have a lot to offer. If any of you have a suggestion or two it would be much appreciated. My cell is 909 374-8850 or my email is don@rocketexhaust.com Thanks!

To think that guys of your calibre need to ask for assistance on a public forum shows how bad things are in this game.

Wishing you good luck and a successful season.

No reason to get flamed.

Good luck to you and Michael, he's got a lot of talent to offer.

For sure. Big difference than some kid begging for a new bike or demanding help to make a few nats. Maybe he should start a GoFundMe lol. Asking a dealer for help at that level is nothing to get flamed about. Should talk to Motosport. From what I can tell they're the biggest supporters of privateer efforts.

When it's a legitimate rider that is making an honest attempt and putting in the amount of effort you both do, I doubt anyone will say boo to you about asking for support. Best of luck, hope you get the support he deserves!

Good luck. It's a shame, if he was lining up to race B class at Lorettas he would have people giving him free bikes but because he's a pro no support.

man it really bums me out that top levels riders have to resort to things such as this to take a stab at the big time...

Best wishes Don & Michael. How about starting a crowd funding web page?

I'd contribute to a crowd fund as long as you promised to at least CONSIDER an American-made, carbon can two-stroke silencer with a stainless stinger. Just consider it.

Perhaps someone could help the Leib's build a web site as a marketing tool. All of us use the Internet to evaluate and order products, and the same can apply in this situation. A well-designed site with useful information will increase Michael's visibility exponentially and can be marketing via the ususal suspects (FB, Twitter, etc). I believe we have a few folks on Vital who can assist in that department.

A little advice: keep the goal in mind during the design phase. The site should focus on motivating potential sponsors, not the casual fan. The folks with the money are interested in what you and your son can do for them, not vice versa. Michael's Twitter page is a great start, as his posts are professional and level-headed. A site dedicated to his accomplishments and how they could translate into 2015 resuts has almost no downside.

Alright hold on. lets get serious. How many people would donate to a crowd funding thing? It seems like theres a lot of interest but I've seen this things seem huge and end up getting like $14 in them..

EDIT: I don't know why it quoted a post. it wasn't supposed to
11/7/2014 9:21am
It can't make less than not trying.

Best of luck to you two, Don. I wish I had a company that could support your efforts.

Don Contact Murray at BnB cycles in Victorville. 760-241-7387. No sure he is willing but its worth a shot and the dealer could use the marketing.

Thanks for all the kind words....... I spoke to Murray and sent him a proposal. Also been studying Crowdfunding. Very interesting for sure. I'll bump this post up when I get the Crowdfunding site up. My thinking is to offer signage on our "White" gear, part or all of the helmet, track training, spend the afternoon in Michael's pit at a SX etc. Looking forward to launching this!

I've said this many times before. Mfg's are breeding factory amateurs and then jerk the rug out from them when they turn pro. Dumbing down of the sport. People get pissy when I say there should be no contingency for these kids. They should save that for the pro classes and give the younger riders something to aim for instead of hanging back in the c class.
