Random supercross question from my five year old (now with riding pictures!)

Hey guys. So my son was recently diagnosed with leukemia which has us staying at Primary Children's hospital with a perfect view of the stadium where the supercross races are taking place. He watched the day race today and asked where the fireworks were. So I told him that I'd double check with those in the know but assumed no fans=no fireworks. He also said that if anyone wanted to say hi while they are in town to let me know. He also wanted to make sure that you know that he just passed his third Covid test yesterday (he's 5 so that's important to him.) He's new to the sport but loving it so far! When I told him that what was on TV was also right out his window it blew his little mind!

Are you smart enough to buy a bike that costs less, weighs less, makes more horsepower per cubic centimeter, can be rebuilt for recycled aluminum can money and is giggle inducing? It is hard to believe that the American riding public flunks this test en masse. How stupid are you?

First I’d like to pass on my condolences I hate reading about sick kids.
Second I have no idea but I’d guess the same no crowed no fireworks.
Third I’m not in the country let alone town but if you pm me an address I’d love to send the little man a post card from down under let him know people all over the world care....
Best wishes to you from Australia.

Our family would love to buy a cardboard cutout for your son, that Feld is selling. And MAYBE someone could reach out to Daniel Blair to get his cutout shown on TV!! Or MAYBE GUYB could climb up to the cardboard cutout fan section and shoot a PIC of the cutout for your family!!

The remaining seven rounds of 2020 Monster Energy Supercross will be held without fans, much to the dismay of those who live close to Utah. There is still a way to get your face in the stands though! Feld Entertainment are introducing a concept that enables the world's biggest superfans to have a presence at Rice Eccles Stadium. There is a catch though: You will just be on a bit of cardboard.

To find out how to get your face in the stands, visit THIS link for more. You will be granted exclusive access to some special online content as well, by showing your support. If you get involved then a custom-created poster of you will be positioned in a stadium seat at the final seven rounds of 2020 Monster Energy Supercross. You'll then have a chance to be featured as a superfan on NBC Sports, NBC Sports Gold, Supercross Live, social media and more platforms. There will be some exclusive conference calls from behind the scenes in Utah too. All good stuff!

You have to submit a photo on the link above to get involved, so it is really quite simple. It is effectively a chance to be a part of history, as the COVID-19 era of Monster Energy Supercross will be referenced for years to come. It is actually going to be quite interesting to see how many cardboard cutouts are put up into the stands at Rice Eccles Stadium. Imagine if it is full?

My best guess is that there’s no fireworks to reduce the amount of people required to run the show.
Fireworks require a specialist pyro crew that are otherwise surplus to the racing.

All the best!

Man, I can't even tell you how much it means to have all of this support from so many great people on here. It's all so new to our son and my wife and I and I absolutely do not want to put anyone out. Just the positive thoughts really help. This is the best community of people in the world. Even telling my son Collin that people who love the same sport that he does are thinking about him made him so happy. It means a lot. Thanks guys.

I’m in. FlaNard, if you don’t care, can you post a pic of your son? I’ll pay the $25 and submit it to Feld to get his photo in the stands. It’s looks like Ti and Deja are willing to do the same, and I’m sure some others would be willing as well. Hopefully we can flood Feld with pics of Collin and have him all over the stadium!

At the moment, it's a bit like Supercross Unplugged. It's a stripped-down version of what you're used to seeing in person. There are no fireworks, flame cannons, rider intros, house announcers, or continuous music.

That leaves us with racing, which thankfully, has been pretty good. smile

The SX Superfan deal has been limited to one section of the stands, in the south end zone. It's getting pretty full down there, though. smile

Prayers to your son and your family. I’m sure he is incredibly strong and will come through this. Kids are so much more resilient than we are.

I figured, it appeared on tv to be a limited area. How many “fans” do you think are there? I’m just thinking the more photos submitted the greater chance Collin has to get a spot(or hopefully a few spots) and ultimately see himself on tv.

You think they could make an exception and have a section or a few rows for this young Man?

How much are the cut outs ? lets over load it with his image.

Condolences to your son and hope he kicks some butt!!

Email me at info@viralmoto.com. We’d love to send the little dude a Viral Moto package! Don’t have any youth sizes right now but we’ll get something together to hopefully help keep his spirits high! Also if anyone does get the little dude a cardboard fan picture let me know and I will pass it along to DB to see if he can do anything! Crazy times we are in right now, would love to help put a smile on someone’s face!

They're $25. SXsuperfan.com

How many spots? I'm not sure. Here's a partial pic from one of the earlier rounds.

Maxie is home and on his boat instead of producing "the show." No sound and stage without fans. The pyro stuff is more for optics on tv but also part of the fan experience. No fans, no need for a big production. Also, massive cost savings!

From one Florida Nerd to another, I wish you, Collin, and your family the best!

Add me to list of those that would like to send something to Collin. A buddy of mine invented a toy and wrote a book to go with it, and Collin is the perfect age for it (it is Tooth Fairy related; kids typically start losing teeth around 5-6.) He has donated them to children's hospitals in the past, but I'll buy one to send to you to support both him and you guys.

Please know that you're not putting anyone out. It's about supporting Collin (and your whole fam) during his fight. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that giving him reasons to smile and feel special are worth way more than than a few dollars. smile
