Well I'll be damned. I didn't know either you or Steve drove RC.....pretty cool. I myself just got back into it a few weeks ago. We have a descent little 1/8th scale track about 20min from my hose and a bunch of my old MX racing buddies got into driving about a year ago. We have a possible 2 more bigger 1/8th scale tracks that are in planning stages right now for spring and summer. I picked up two ( almost new ) Mugen MBX-6 Eco's and am going all electric as of right now , but may put together a nitro buggy if the new tracks allow it. I still have 7-8 motors left , starting box and all the good stuff.....just need a place to run them. Weekend before last I had my first drive back in about 7 - 8yrs......man what a blast!

Dave and Steve.....have either of you guys tried the RC track at Glen Helen yet? I heard it was pretty large and fit 1/8th scale pretty well.

I have a friend, Who runs the 1/8th scale. And he said the glen helen track is alot of fun.. I have yet to be to it personally, As my little 1/10th scale scb10b would probably get destroyed lol.

As for nitro buggys, I think the only track that's running them currently is Revelation.

I personally Think electric is the way to go. Nitro is fun if you can tune.. but if you cant... prepare to be pissed off 24/7 with that thing lol.

Funny we got onto an RC subject here. I received my Tekin hotwire today and have never played around with one until now. Pretty nifty little piece of hardware to tune your ESC with. I only had that one drive on my new Mugen.....but knew I had some changes that needed to be done on that ESC.

When the Lakewood National comes to town you should head over to MHOR RC or Unser underground. Great tracks. Unser even does Supercross style with a starting gate. Been pretty fun.

Here is some vids to MHOR. About 25-30 minutes from the Thunder Valley

Here is Unser track. They only to the gate drop on supercross Saturday's.
Not to mention you can have a waitress bring you a nice cold tall beer while you're racing......

I drive myself crazy adjusting the brakes on my RS Pro's.. have one on a TLR 22SCT and a TLR 22 buggy.. never can find the setting I like. Hotwire is a blessing and a curse, haha.

I heard about a track and showed up and they were racing that day. Even though I had never even seen a real RC track I signed up and gave it a shot. The guy I was racing against in the silver truck was the owner ofcoarse. Doh.

Who needs Yoga or marathons when you have this track? Just sign up to be a track worker during races! You are guaranteed to lose 5 pounds in a single day in pure sweat! LOL. That seriously looks like a total blast for a track though. That would be a BUSY track for a throttle / trigger finger. I think the track would be better with the larger black drainage pipes for track barriers, it might keep the cars / trucks from jumping / crashing into the other lanes so easily.

Fun vid and would love to have one as nice here! Thank you for sharing.

RC racing is the only thing that I miss from the east coast since my move to San Luis Obispo. No tracks even close to here.

Solid "B" main (= stock short course and modified stadium truck racer here.

I have two Team Losi Kinwald Edition XXX buggies and one truck. Are these still competitive at all if I were to upgrade the electronics?

Thanks!

Hey, not one mention of Traxxis - WTF! I kid, I kid. I guess all the Kawi guys need to modify their podium speeches to sell more of their stuff!

I read this entire thread without a clue as to who makes what in this hobby! Sounds like ton-o-fun though.

Mine is a Losi SCTE 4x4. I have the Traxxas and there is just no comparison in the handling department.
