After reading "Electronic Ping" in the new issue of Racer X, I got to thinking. Ping talks about how people who don't ride dirtbikes think that motocross has no physical demand on your body. I was wondering if there was an actual study of the physical demand of motocross and how motocross relates to other sports?

haha.. how does golf beat motocross??? ping actually talks about golf in this article.

Here is what he says.....

"And golfers, well, they just walk around in ridiculous clothes all day long swinging a metal stick. Yeah, I know, I know-- its really difficult when you have to walk the course in the heat and play a bunch of holes. Blah, Blah, Blah. What does your heart rate get up to in golf, 85 or 90 BPM? I exceed that when I'm on the thinker crowning a toilet carp in the morning."

Since they are calling it Motor-cross and saying 204 calories for an hour,I'm guessing they mean roadracing ,which I would guess is still more than that.

Wow..."motor-cross" is equivalent to "Softball Officiating. Hmmmm...standing, looking and talking equates to running a full moto. Yea, that makes sense. That would explain why all of those softball guys I see at the bar after a game look so fit. I almost burned 204 calories typing this response. Man, MX is easy and we're all a bunch of wussies.
