We look back at RV winning the million and think what a badass he was, when we look back at Tomac's win we will think about Joey waving him past.
Yeah sure but at the end of the day both those checks cash the same.

Maybe so but I know which one I'd rather have.

So without Joey letting him by, who would you have put your hard earned down on winning that race given how fast Tomac was coming? I know I would have backed Tomac all the way....

Tomac was going by either way. He was in full freak mode, he would have punted him if he had too......ANYONE on this board would also for a million

100 percent right. Tomac was going by him one way or another. Also Tomac had to win the other two motos.

Some people just don’t like Tomac so they have to cry about anything he does.

The guys are probably friends too, you wouldn’t want your friend to earn $1M? I would have done the same if I was Joey.. plus it’s just MEC

There is probably bonuses for mechanics and all as well. Just imagine the Kawi after party if he didn't pull over . I am guessing it wouldn't have been as good as the one they had.

Here's the difference for me-

Joey pointed to Tomac as to say "go around" clearly and intentionally

Marvin backpedaled the entire Tour De France

Couldn't care less about "team" tactics at an exhibition race like MEC or even MXON and good on everyone for the 2 million bucks flowing around post MEC.

That said, IMO the AMA needs to protect the integrity of the championship. Letting someone by should result in a loss of "gained points" by whoever benefits from it and also hefty fine to the team for instructing it. Its either a genuine championship or roller derby..they need to figure it out.

Bullshit title and options. No "race fixing" going on. First option should be ONLY "Team tactics"

So many are using the term "race fixing" interchangeably with "team tactics" and it is not even in the same ball park.

There was no race fixing going on at the MEC. Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Husky did not all get together and conspire to ensure that Eli won the race. All the other riders did not move over for Eli so he could go from mid to the front.

Did Kawi know that Eli would have a mid pack start and have to fight back up AND at the same time Joey would be leading the race from start to finish? Unlikely. Still, a team mate, moving aside so the other can take the lead, is team tactics. No other riders move aside for Eli, just his teammate, nothing illegal by that.

I also love the alternative history memory many on here have thinking that this has not been a thing from as far back as the '70's.
