Some people just don’t like Tomac so they have to cry about anything he does.
I would guess you would also.
Joey pointed to Tomac as to say "go around" clearly and intentionally
Marvin backpedaled the entire Tour De France
That said, IMO the AMA needs to protect the integrity of the championship. Letting someone by should result in a loss of "gained points" by whoever benefits from it and also hefty fine to the team for instructing it. Its either a genuine championship or roller derby..they need to figure it out.
So many are using the term "race fixing" interchangeably with "team tactics" and it is not even in the same ball park.
There was no race fixing going on at the MEC. Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Husky did not all get together and conspire to ensure that Eli won the race. All the other riders did not move over for Eli so he could go from mid to the front.
Did Kawi know that Eli would have a mid pack start and have to fight back up AND at the same time Joey would be leading the race from start to finish? Unlikely. Still, a team mate, moving aside so the other can take the lead, is team tactics. No other riders move aside for Eli, just his teammate, nothing illegal by that.
I also love the alternative history memory many on here have thinking that this has not been a thing from as far back as the '70's.
