Lets say he wins this title and MX, it would be pretty hard to rate anyone but RC above him. I feel the all-time list goes RC,RJ,BH,RV and JS

I said in another post last night, with this win I have no problems saying he is the 2nd best all time as per the record books, and really, i can't say that RV couldn't have beaten RC in a title fight. He is that good.

All time, with this win, let alone outdoors and next year, I say RC, RV, MC, Rj, BH, JS...

MC was just so dominant I have to put him up above the others...

And I still cry at night at what might have been as a Reedy fan if not for Yamaha 4 strokes, seattle 2009, Dallas 2011 & 2012 and the fuckin millville incident... haha Oh and the dang seat bolts at Minneapolis in 2003! SadSmile

Yes, 4 strokes, and not an ultra-talented guy name RC, was Reed's Achilles heel. Unsure

It goes RC, Everts (tie), RV, Stewart, RJ, DeCoster, Hannah.

You yahoos always underrate the gp riders...

Reed was doing more than fine on 2 strokes, he was quite handily holding his own. He was way slower to transition to his best on the four strokes. If you believe Ferry/DV/Reed, the big blue bike might have also not been the easiest thing to handle.

If we're adding GP riders, I'll bring Everts in, but he also has a lot of wins due to Albee and Tortelli's desire to race the best. Not that he wasn't awesome, but if those two stay away from SX and keep racing GPs, they're more likely in this discussion than Stefan.

I was doing AMA only, but SE72 is hard to rate, Albee beat him for a few years in a row it only took Seb one year to beat him for a title. For me rating GP's I go DeCoster, AC222 , Hekki, SE72 and Hallman. The new guys have inflated wins over the old guys so I don't mind putting the guys in this order. WHEN AC222 wins the title this year he takes over number 1 IMO, 6 straight in the undisputed "Top" class is insane, no 250/500 splitting guys up.

I have a hard time putting MC in the Top 5 because of his lack of MX. But if he wins 1996 Steel City, just that one race could arguably put him in 2nd. Reed is a bosssss no doubt but to often he was third and a lonely third at that when RC and JS were going full bore. They have all had bad luck and races they can point out not just Reed.

Ya I think MC's 89 wins counts tho. Like you say, Emig went boss mode or Millville MC pulled out... That title is easily the other way.

Def have hard races and bad luck, and yeah, 4 stroke era, Reed didn't transition like RC/James. 05 to 06 he wasn't as close. Reedy has had a few more bad luck races than most tho. Maybe all except James... Stewy has a lot of titles on the table from crashes or whatnot...

Yep. Albee and Tortelli leaving for me make Stefan's career infinitely better...

I would like to see race start stats, RV has accumulated his wins in a relatively short career compared to some of the other guys

I think RC and RV have been pretty dominant in both of their careers. hard to compare both really. It's always tough to compare different generations and it also depends on the age of the individual you are discussing it with.

Well I use actual stats for when I say something, and you just antagonise the shit out of people. That's pretty much it. I like you tho. It's ok.

Mmmm. Reading most of your posts, that's not too likely. Unless it's Lenny land. Then I'm sure it makes perfect sense.

Between RC and RV , I just dont know if RV would want it bad enough. He does what he does and well . RC was always willing to escalate the pace to the next level. Nobody wanted it more than RC.

No, winning one race because the top 3 guys fell, and then being unable to do it again because at least one of them stays upright and prevents you from winning again is called luck....winning 150 is commitment and hard work.

Racism makes you very, very stupid.

Agreed. RV likes to win...RC refused to lose.
