I noticed that the Bars seem High
I have only seen it in pics so far
Is this red part
A riser of some kind ?
Is it expensive to lower it ?

Theyre aftermarket bar mounts. Yes they come in diff heights. Stock ones are pretty low.

Those are renthal's fatbar mounts. They do sit slightly higher than my stock clamps did. (05 CRF 250) But honda bars ran a bit high at that time anyway so i didnt notice much difference.

Thanks I haven't even sat on it but just
Looks high to me
I was planning to go look at it today
But a work obligation just changed that so it may be gone before I get a chance its listed for $2600 obo
Which seems good for a 12 RMZ450 in my opinion
Not sure I want a 450 but I figured for that price I could try it for a bit and be able to sell it and get my money back pretty easy if I dont like it .
Also in the pic the forks look low or something almost looks like a stink bug stance to me

I don't think 2600 is a good price for a 2012. You can get 2015s for not much more

Probably true But $2600 is a stretch for me
Like my real number is $2000 I'm digging into bill money if I was t go to $2600
So even stretching a another $500
Isn't possible

I don’t understand the OP’s pension lately for posting bikes for sale and asking opinions on them and then not getting them. As well, you’ve been a member for 9 years and are asking about what bar risers are?

You need to look at a bike when you’re interested in it. If I’m selling a bike and someone starts texting me questions like :”those bars look high, is it hard to change?” Or “those forks look low. Does it have a stink bug stance?”, I stop responding. I will answer about 3 questions over text; yes I have the title, the price is firm, and no, I won’t deliver. I don’t even know how you got to thinking the forks look low. You’re going to miss out on the best deals because somebody with cash is always going to be ready to go see the bike while you’re still having weird debates in your head about fork height.

I wasnt asking the person those Question
I was asking the opinion of the group
I wouldn't get In Contact with someone selling something if I wasnt thinking about buying it
However I would post stuff in a forum
For the sake of discussion
Sometimes .
I am actually looking to Buy a bike right now
I just recently sold one
So I am Trying to learn as much as possible about as many
Different years etc as I can
Because I cant afford to just choose what year and brand I would most want
I have to go by whatever brand and year happens to be
The right price and condition.
Also I just enjoy talking about dirt bikes
And who better to ask than a core group of people who over the years has had them all and experienced the
Evolution of the sport first hand .
Personally to this day I have Never Ridden a four stroke
I have actually wanted one for a really long
Time but I'm trying to buy one totally based off of what i read vs my own experience.

Tarz - FYI a stinkbug stance is high in the rear & has the opposite effect of you think it is. The bike in the pic has a chopper effect to it by having the rear low & front higher.

Based on his financial situation he mentions above a 2T would be a better option at this time. They are relatively maintenance free & are a good low budget option.

Yes.

You're on the right track. Do a little research in here...there are some years that're better than others...but...simply finding a good clean 450 for $2K that you can ride and be happy with...well, like I said: you're on the right track.

Good Luck!

K. Good luck on your quest. It will be hard to find a decent 4T within your budget range of $2K.

Another option would be to use that $2K as a down payment on a new 18 RMZ450 or left over 17 if you can afford a monthly payment.

The dealers are currently giving very good deals on 18 RMZ, KXF 450's in my area. Probably due to summer being around the corner with boats & water crafts coming into season.

I wish I could buy one new I have seen the great deals
And could put $2000 or more down
And make payments
But dont have a high enough credit score
So That isn't an option
So I will just keep looking , I'm sure something will come up
I actually almost bought another 125 yesterday
A 2003 CR just because the deal was too good to pass up
But it sold right away before I had a chance
Great deals go fast

Agree on the finance part, ONLY if you know you can make the payments. If you can come up with 4g's come get my 16 Anniversary YZ250F, it's 99.9% brand new, actually it's better than brand new. Also, the 250F is plenty of power for your size, I think the 450 might be more power than you want.... your one year old twin babies need Dad around. Wink Oops, just saw your new post on financing.

Thanks for the advice
I'm sure yours is worth it , I agree on the 250f being enough
I'm a little leery of a 450
Having Ridden very little over the past decade lol
I feel like they are too easy to go fast on
And can be a handful weight wise
Just from things I've heard and read.

Thanks I will I want a Low hour fuel injected 250F of any brand including Suzuki
But if I cant get 1 that's Decent for $2500 or less
I may buy another 125 , and yeah being on a tight budget sucks I probably shouldn't even be trying to do this
Sport but i am passionate about it ,
I Havent had a brand new bike since 2002
Which i financed and paid off
, Had my 1st child in 2003 so
So that and a few bad decisions pretty much explains why i havent had any more new bikes

See if you can find a low hr 07 or 08 crf 4t0 . I put over 500 hrs on my 07.. with two piston s and one full rebuild . They are such a great bike. The 12 rmz are bulitproof too . But my 12 rmz gearbox went .at a bit over 200hr s .which is still good imo. Other than that it started first kick every time. One good thing about the Suzuki I found was loads of second hand parts on eBay. I got a full gearbox for 120$
