RM Restyle kit seat issues

Edited Date/Time 9/14/2019 5:34pm
So I've been doing up a 2002 125, and I decided to go with the restyle kit.

So all was well until I decided to try and put the seat on, and I'm really disappointed to see the results.

As you will see in the pictures the rear fender and side panels interfere with the seat A LOT. I'm wondering if this is unique to me. I have both a genuine OEM seat and an aftermarket seat and the same issue occurs on both.

Has anyone else had this problem? I really don't want to have to modify my seat to make it work.

Mine bolted right up without issue but its an 07. Maybe the subframes a bit different on the older ones? Really weird.

Yeah I did a search and couldn't find anyone else having trouble. My brother is pretty sure it's a 250 subframe as it has the CDI mount in the airboot but I'm not sure if the 125 had that anyway? Not sure. I managed to get it on but it looks a bit rough. I'll have to trim some on the plastic a bit to get it to bolt up nice and easy.

I know they changed the frame a bit starting in 2003, but I always thought the subframes were the same.

Suzuki sent me a bunch of subframes and airboxes for my 125 and there were a lot of 250 parts mixed in so Im guessing they are the same or at least bolt up without issues.

Yep. I had a 06 250 sub frame on my 06 125

They moved the air vents in the side plates in 04. The polisport plastics have the same vents as the 04+ models. You could trim those, but, no Idea what's going on with the rear of the seat.

Is that an OE seat base or an aftermarket? Being black, it looks like an SDG. That could explain the problem.
