What an absolutely horrible shame! Reports are he crashed yesterday at Willowbank MX park
Didn't know him personally but just always seemed like such a good dude..

Really sucks

If the US guys aren't familiar with him he was one of 'THE guys' in the 80's and 90's over here! True Aussie MX legend!

Terrible news, what a character and to happen on the track after all these years, far out. MX is so fucking rough sometimes. RIP Reggie.

For the people from other countries Reggie was not only a top notch guy but multi time factory rider and national champion and if i’m Correct did his own suspension whilst he was a factory rider. RIP Reggie

He won the 1998 Australian supercross championship riding each round on a bone stock KX250. I think that was Chad Reeds first year as a senior, and Pete got that one over him.

Ride In Peace, condolences to his family and friends.

From what I remember of him, he was the gentlemen of the sport.

Spent time hanging and riding with Reg many times on his trips to the states over the last 20 years. Besides being a stellar rider, he was just an awesome human being. When it came to wit, humor, and putting a smile on someone’s face, he was a world champion. They truly broke the mold after him. Heard this news this morning and I’m fully gutted. Truly sad. God Speed Peter.

I went to the Des Nations in '92 (I was 13) and was at the after party which anyone could go to and was just a massive bonfire (and I mean MASSIVE) with a few of Australia's finest riders floating around haha.. Anyway we were going to leave but before we could we had to get a very talkative, very polite and very drunk dude off our car.. When we got some light on the situation my brother yelled "It's Peter perfect!" haha and sure enough it was

Id left Australia in 1991 so id missed that Bon Fire in 92 but i meet him at Red Cliff on a club day was an amazing guy that had time to chat to us kids at the time not full of himself just down to earth and watching him rip that track we just started calling him Peter Perfect that would have been about 1986 David " Party Boy" Armstrong was there too great times when pros still did local club days.

Read about this on Thursday. Hit me really hard.

Melton was one of the guys I really looked up to when I first got a dirtbike (only because I had a kx80 and he was one of Kawasakis main riders). About 10 years later a friend recommended him for suspension and he setup my bikes for a number of years.

You would go to drop your suspension off quikly and end up having a decent 45mins talk to him about riding/anything. Incredibly down to earth and genuinely enjoyed having a conversation with you.

RIP.

Jemcee, I was the one that you helped get the drunk dude off the car so I could drop him back at our motel. I worked on the Des Nations marketing commitee-by the time the race day was done so was he & I was ready to party. Sun was well and truly up by the time that party finished.
Perfect Pete was exactly that Perfect & unique-the world isnt the same
