Funny he finally does well on a sandy horsepower robbing track. Guess your "it's all the bikes fault" theory just got blown to pieces.

Awesome to see Mike have a good moto and hopefully bring back some of that confidence.

Bobby. There were some decent changes made to settings. Not everything he wanted. But getting closer. Check TA's facebook for more clues. When I heard the whole story I was dumbfounded. How do you not take feedback from your rider and do want they feel comfortable with and asking for?

Hoping this gives Mikey the extra boost of confidence he needs. If you noticed the front suspension didn't look like it belonged on a sx track like it used to. I still think it's too stiff.

How true. That POS was getting out HP'erd all over the track. I wasn't sure it was going to make it up that long sand hill. You know the one where he was paddling with his feet all the way up. I heard him shift down to low and rev the hell out of it all the way up the hill. Great ride on a real POS motorcycle. Just think, if he had a PC 250 he could have lapped the field.

Southwick looks like a shell of its former self. I won't say it is as horsepower robbing as it used to be........oh, and props to Alessi on the good ride.

Good to see him up there. We need a few more names up front since the disappearance by James........

Agreed. Hard to call it a sand track now. MXSports should look for a real SAND track to add to to the series to add to the non existent diversity.

He got a start, but If that wasn't a short start with 180 turn it's more of the same. Mike's just as good as he was, today he had a first corner where the smaller bike is an advantage.

There is nothing "deep" about the sand at the wick anymore. Time to put some jumps on that track similar to Red Bud.

He is 5th in points after moto 1, and It is a bit of a mystery to me how he is that far up. His results have declined in each race this year and he moves up in the point standings as other riders drop out and have problems.

Hangtown 2
Freestone 7
Hi Point 5
Budds 5
Lakewood 8
Red Bud 9
Millville 11
Washougal 11
Unadilla 14

Average overall finish is 8th place.

He definately looks better today. It has been hard to comprehend what he has been doing this season.

The one sure thing you can say about Mike is he is going to be riding no matter what. Crappy bike or injury he is going to do everything he can to be out there on the track and lately thats more than you can say about a lot of top guys.

Glad to see the improvement...good ride.

But, he did benefit from 2 riders running out of gas in front of him and another breaking....plus he was over a minute behind the leader (almost half a lap) and 10 seconds behind Hahn in second place...so I don't know what to make of that...Maybe this will boost his confidence though...time will tell I guess.

That is very true, you have to give him a lot of credit for that. and as bad as his season has been (for his standards 5th in the 450 AMA championship aint bad!) there has not been a lot of public whinging, well not that i have seen.

So the season has not been a complete loss.

Congrats to Mikey. 2nd overall is a huge turn around for him. He seemed so stoked on the podium and who can blame him. I can't remember the last time Mikey went this long between podiums.

So Bobby.. Are you going to claim they threw a 450 motor Woohoo in his bike this week? The bike seemed super fast in the sand. Hmmmm??

You have to wonder if the sand is a little bit of an equalizer between guys who are good at bike setup and those who aren't? Nobody's bike feels good in sand, and lousy setup feels about the same as good setup.

They showed him quite a bit in moto 1. The bike+Mike looked to be working pretty will there.

Both of you guys are dead wrong. But thats to be expected from people who were not there. Even if MX Sports found a new joint, they would groom between motos in the new location as well. Those bobcats and john deers put in more laps than the Hondas did. Laughing
