I raced the next round in Ocala. Travis had a tweaked knee.

Was that Nick Wey on the 27 in the second moto? I was 22 in '94, so I wasn't following minicycle racing at all.

They didn’t race much on minis. RC was an age class or two ahead of Pastrana. And RC was as dominate on minis as he was as a pro. I happened to be in his age class growing up. I was happy with a podium because first place was pretty much impossible.

In 1994 Carmichael would have been 14-15 and Pastrana only 10. He was a big kid.

Reynard is older than both and was already Pro in 1994.

I have a friend that raced against Osborne and whoever else in that time. He would show up and see who was there, then tell his dad, "yup I'm getting 3rd-4th today". His dad was a drill instructor at the time, so that didn't fly well with him loli

Didn’t realize till I googled, but RC was 4 years older than Travis.

Edit: just saw someone else posted that.

I think that's Matt Walker. I raced 80 14-15 at LL's in 94. That footage brings back some memories.

i was 14 years old that year too. I was thinking Matt Walker while watching it as well. Couldn't remember if he rode Kaws ever or not. My first memory of him was in 95, he was riding BSY Yamahas.

That's crazy, I raced Gatorback twice so far this year and the turn outs are nothing like that nowadays, gonna show my dad these. Thanks for posting.

Yes, but look at photos from that time period of the winter ams as well compared to what the turnouts are now, it's sad.

That is so interesting, you can totally see RC's style that continued on. Too bad Pastrami ended up getting hurt. He could have been the guy for many years. Can you imagine a race where RC, Pastrami and Stewart are 1/10th apart for entire moto's?

Cool, thanks. Matt Walker wasn't even a name that entered my head on that one. I was thinking Wey because of the number, and (I think) he would have been towards the tail end of his mini days in '94.

I think Wey was 586 back then.

Canard was in a whole different era.

I think 7 may have been Brock Sellards, but Brock would probably have beat everyone on that gate except Carmichael so I'm not sure.
