It's shocking to me that someone that raced with a great deal of intelligence is so amazingly inarticulate when talking about a sport that he knows intimately. Ricky's observations are so trivial and uninteresting much of the time and his use of cliches and abundant malapropisms are painful to listen to.

I would think his background would provide him with a great many fascinating insights, but was he says, and how he says it are an embarrassment to him and the network.

I have to agree. I thought he could have been better than Emig but nope, he's pretty hard to listen to. It was funny when they had RV on and he sounded way more professional than Ricky.

Still waiting on the scientific research study to prove or disprove the aerodynamic advantage of running a cue ball helmet.

Sweet first post bro. I bet in your free time you troll Facebook looking for people to argue with about politics.

For someone trying so hard to sound intelligent, you are making an idiotic statement.

RC is a home-schooled dirt bike racer from the hillbilly part of Florida.

I'm amazed he is doing as well as he is.

You want bad commentating, tune in Nascar sometime. and tell me what an "Amba-lance is...

Agreed. Its cringeworthy

It makes me laugh that most foreign riders have a better command of the language than many of the home schooled domestic riders.

I've never heard that word either but it's exactly the right one.

He has no business being anywhere near a mic. He always reminds me of this Family Guy clip https://youtu.be/8xdTYVxzEwI

It was tuff at first but now it's all about the racing. I dont even hear him anymore. DVR the race and fast forward to the racing. How bout Smith last weekend? Unreal fast.

I turn the sound off and practice guitar/mandolin while watching Supercross. Every now and then a closed caption will flash across the screen and let me know that people are talking... otherwise.... it's a dirt bike race, I can figure it out.

GOAT
I am thrilled anytime he talks about riding. He rode WTFO and defied the odds. A legend in motorsports.

I don’t believe he rode with intelligence. He was arguably the fastest ever, but his style was about as smooth as his commentary. Go back and watch. Bars rolled back, elbows down, wide open, making wild saves every other lap...

Rc has 5 races Emig had 10 years+ When RC fumbles or has a long pause or doesn't complete the sentence it's just a reminder he is not a professional announcer that's all. RC is at his best when the racing gets intense it's like he talks without thinking and the delivery and content is awesome. I give him a 9 out of 10 so far. We should be proud and thankful he is doing this for the fans instead of some non moto professional announcer.
