Wow, that's a blow. He was young. How long has he been in a coma? Whew, that sucks.

That is awful news. I just heard last night that he's been in a coma and Davey told me this morning that it happened two weeks ago. That's really a shame. My condolences to all his friends and family.

Wow, sad news. Talk about a guy who rode the rollercoaster. It's too bad he couldn't find some sort of help.

Sadly, a lot of people in that situation just don't want it and the outcome is usually this.

Pro Circuit was the first but Honda of Troy saw the light of day in 93 with a full effort starting in 94. First National win came the next year at Washougal when Mike Brown narrowly beat Steve Lamson for the overall.

Troy Racing had something like 200 podiums, 43 wins, and five or so 125/250 East/West championships. Biggest heartbreak was Pastrana nipping Roncada for the 125 outdoor title in 2000. Everyone that was a friend or had worked for Phil can speak to his generosity and penchant for having a good time/pushing the envelope.

Michael Rigdon let Phil's friends know that he had slipped into a coma on February 29, as a result of a heroin overdose. He battled until today. Alderton was, unfortunately, extremely self-destructive.
