When you are spectating at a race of the class that you would normally ride, do you watch and think "wow, those dudes look slow?"
Or, do you think "THOSE DUDES ARE FLYING! "?
Just curious about how you view others in your class, when you are not out there with them.
Back when I was racing, sometimes I would think that they looked embarrassingly slow, but other times, I would be spectating and think "there is no way that I ride that fast".

I just watched a video my wife took of me at the Boise Old timers race. I suck. Looks like a damn trail ride. God damn it!

All true! Me too.
It looks so much easier from outside looking in.

thats the thing tho there are guys they LOOK slow but have you covered on all sections of the track and then there are riders who just look fast, you have to look very closely

Mike Brown races my old guy class along with a few other guys who do well at Loretta's. I pretty much go to the line with a " just happy to be here" mindset. I have come to grips that I am a mobile chicane.

I’ve done the same thing. Think I’m going pretty good and then one day watch my class and think, damn I’m slow! Oh well, guess I’m having fun anyway! Cheers to you fast guys!

Riding as fast as can, people come running over, thinking I’m suffering some sort of medical emergency.

Last Triathlon I did, an old lady passed me on the run, and said innocently “oh, have you done your knee?”
To be fair, I’m much better at swimming and cycling, than running. (And I’m pretty sure I could have beaten her in fist fight, if I could have caught her.....j

Shit man, I’m a pretty good A rider. When we are sessioning not on race day and my comp is out on the track I watch and think “holy cow dude ______ is shredding there’s no way I could beat him!” But then when we do get together and I’m going faster, that’s a pretty cool feeling.

It’s funny for me because I feel like I’m going really fast on the track and then I watch my GoPro footage and I’m like oh wow, that ain’t me, who’s that slow guy? Lol

LMFAO at these posts.
It's the same for me. I'm 62 and have been doing moto for many years. A few weeks ago a buddy of mine followed me for a lap with his GoPro. I know I'm getting slower as I get older (probably a good thing).
But when I saw the video I thought. "I suck!". I felt like I was riding pretty well, but in the video I looked like crap . lol

My dad bought a camcorder back in the 80’s and recorded one of my races. It was painful to watch. Told him never do that again. 30 years later I regret it as I only have about 30 minutes of me racing. No way I’d video myself now as I require professional photographers to make me look good in still photographs.
