anyone have a newer Silverado 4 door/quad cab and fit two bikes in easily enough ? Obviously it can be done. I’ve been looking at buying one this spring and replacing my old faithful 03 s-10 that’s been in the family since brand new. I know the bed is super short and I would like to get a bed extender so I can throw extra stuff in the bed without it flying out. just curious if anyone uses one on the regular and what your thoughts are on them ... thanks

Same. Bed extender makes it a non-issue other than losing the back-up cam (since the tailgate is down).

Chevy does sell the quad cab with the 6.5' bed. Get the 5.3 V8, 4wd, locking rear diff, and you'll have a super capable truck.

Used to put 4 full sized bikes in a ranger. You’re good to go in your truck!

What I don’t like with the new Chevy with the easy-lift gate is that when you drive the gate open it could move easily up and down and the noise is annoying and you feel like you’re gonna loose the tailgate.Maybe not the case with a bed extender but I never had one nor need one. Two bikes with all the gear and toolbox and 2 kids it’s an easy fix(no the kids aren’t in the truck bed but all their toys and bicycles)!

This is on a 2019 trail boss.

Why not get a quad cab with the longer 6-1/2 ft bed instead of the 5-1/2 ft bed?

If you position the bikes properly, you can close the tailgate and you have more room for using your pickup truck like a pickup truck. haha

I can tell you I didn't get one because the other 98% of the time I am in the truck I just don't need something that big.

Trucks are massive now days.

3 450’s no problem, stagger the middle bike, Ready Ramp is a bed extender. gear bags, pop up tent and chairs, and even a gas can no problem do it all the time in my Silverado.

Does that truck have the 5.5’ bed? I just bought a new to me f150 supercrew cab. Bed seems small enough the rear tire wouldnt fit even w a bed extender.

Also which extender are you guys using thats easily removed? I keep seeing the ones that are on a hinge

Headed to the Chevy dealer to look at Colorados for my wife today. She was rear ended while sitting at a stoplight by someone texting and we just got the news that her car is totaled. She is sore but fine. We transport a lot of produce and she wants a truck with a topper. I have the Silverado and have put bikes in no worries. I love my truck. Still smells showroom new inside and the best driving vehicle I have owned.

'09 GMC Sierra but bed dimensions haven't changed.

One of these
Bed Buddy

With one of these
Moto-Gate

When just driving out to the spot to go ride I don't use the moto-gate. When I go on long trips I'll use the moto-gate. Did a 2,000-mile road trip with that setup and no issues what so ever.

Rear wheels will be on the tailgate but not much.
