I wake up everyday hoping that the 2011 National Schedule is posted. Its like waking up on Christmas morning everyday only to have disappointment. All I have to say is if they think they had a big crowd at Pala this year, wait till the Southeast national next year if we have one. I predict around 50,000 strong

I think North Florida or South Georgia is a fair location.

Of course your vote is Muddy creek.. You're less than an hour from there.

I agree though it's been a long while since you guys have had a National MX race in the SE and it needs to happen. I have family out there that's always whining. . It's weird considering Florida is a close 2nd to Cal for hot spots for MX.

the track is great, but they don't have the infrastructure to handle a national. the roads in and out of the track are horrendous, not enough flat and level parking for the rigs and spectators...besides that, sam ain't gonna spend the money it would take to bring the facility up to mxsports standards...

Muddy Creek, Aonia Pass, should be on the top of the list. I havent been there but from pictures Iron Ciry in Gaffney, SC looks like a great facility to hold a national.

Dont know if Monster would have enough parking for a big national. The track is amazing though for sure. My vote would by AMP mx. I dunno if its doable there either, I just love that track. I thought something was happening with Barber in Birmingham?

Iron city would be a good location, less than a mile of the interstate, with a major airport within a 30 minute drive, and no neighboors to worry about, but parking would be a big problem, for rigs and spectators. The biggest problem though would be that the track is not even close to being long enough. Average lap times for pro's are in the 1:40 range. The owner is pretty much land locked,no room to expand at all, there are 3 paved roads and a railroad track that border the track. its actually in Blacksburgs SCabout 20 miles north of Gaffney and 40 miles south of Charlotte NC. Good track to hold amateur races on for sure. i have raced there many times over the last couple years. The owner,Patrick Morehead is top a notch friendly guy that loves racing.

i also heard barber motorsports park was considering a moto facility...that place for sure has the infrastructure and facilities for a national,,,,hotels, airports, roads in and out and so forth....good thought

Aonia Pass is the only track in Georgia that has the facility for a national that I have seen.

after seeing the parking at thunder valley im sure many tracks down this way could support it. lease a couple acres 3 miles down the road if necessary and shuttle/let people walk to the track. and the pit area wasnt exactly huge either there.

Why settle?
Have you been to Red Bud, Millville, Budds Creek, Washougal, or Freestone, for that matter?
Those folks know how to create crowd-friendly infrastructure.

i see your point and des nations was the first pro outdoor race ive been to. my point was that for the sake of getting a southeast national there are several facilites that could handle it as well as thunder valley did

There is no track there currently but Ricky, DC, and Mark Barnett walked the facility during Talledega this year. Barber will porobably get this national.

1) STOP YELLING, we can hear you just fine.

2) 22 hrs Pensacola to Budds? You do know you don't have to stop at EVERY truck stop and gas station on the way, right? 15 via Mapquest.

3) 15 hrs Pensacola to Freestone? See above comment. 11 hrs via Mapquest.

4) Freestone is 90 minutes further from Pensacola than Houston. 8.5 vs 11.

Via rv, Lakewood is 12hrs, Red Budd 9hrs, Millville 6hrs.
People need to invest a little time, to see quality motocross! Add in a couple of days there for the amateur program and it really makes it worthwhile.

1.OK, I WILL STOP YELLING
2. You get the point, in the southeast you can hit many sx events each year, but it is much more difficult to attend an outdoor.
3. You must bored out of your mind to be mapquesting drive times.

*To clarify...It is a long ass drive to get to an AMA outdoor national event from where i live. I never drove to Budd's, i was guestimating...I never drove to Freestone, i was just guessing. In the future I will refer to mapquest before quoting drive times to anywhere.
