Gentleman,
First, I'm surprised this has not been brought up yet. Literally almost waited a week to see it posted and decided I will take one for the team. Our local humanitarian who goes by Peelout left a voicemail for Steven around his overweight issue while also expressing his concern for the show if the health issue is not addressed.

Steven ( who posts on this site) left the decision up
to us. It's either Steven hits a 6 month boot camp with no shows or we continue down this path with a ending that can't be predicted. The poll is apparently up to us per Steven and PulpMx.

Do we let shows like Main Event and DMXS pick up
the slack during the bootcamp or let Steven ride out the issue at hand?

Again, I would like to express my many thanks to Peelout by him addressing the elephant in the room that pertains to health and Pulp.

You have to want a lifestyle change. Being forced into one will never work, you wont see starva Steve.

Bootcamp! We want Main Event and DMXS for years to come! Geturdun, son!

No way, Swann (with all due respect). I need Pulp. I say we ride Steve into the ground. We all have problems and have to work through them. He's more likely to defect to "hockey only" before we lose him to health issues.

That'd be like suspending JS7. Who knows if we'd ever see him again? Don't care if he's all skinny and only doing hockey podcasts.

It's already been mentioned. He doesn't need a boot camp and certainly people here aren't going to pay him what he makes from advertisements during the hiatus that would be.

Should he maybe try to change his diet and exercise a bit? Sure, as should I. But he's a grown-ass man and can do whatever he wants. And the way some of you guys talk make him out to be these massive rolling tub of lard, haha.

You missed the main point he made, though. He said he'd be all for it if people paid him to do a boot camp. He's not going to put money-making aside to focus on getting ripped.

I had no idea conducting inter-net radio shows caused weight gain.

"Steven" needs to spend more time with Kenny Adams and maybe the "lifestyle" will rub off on him.

But, I could be wrong.

If you are genuinely concerned for Steve's health sorry for saying this thread is lame.

Hes happy, he's got a hot wife and she seems happy, what's the problem? If Mathes wants to lose weight it's entirely up to him.

I think the main problem for Steve is its too damn hot in LV. I don't know how good the mountain biking is there but regardless it's quite hot.

I think it would be neat if we could encourage Steve to lose weight.

It's cool that Peelout stepped up and said something.

Would it be possible to lose weight on the other six and a half days during the week and still "go the extra mile" to do the Pulp show?

No, "Steven" is good to go.

Bro, I'll be in town next week, we can discuss further then.

^^^^ No embargo on shows!!! Whether Steve has an arm cut off or a leg, we need shows. Hell, I vote more shows that we already get.

Huh? Steve is living an unhealthy lifestyle and puts the solution up for a fan vote? What a lazy pug. Obviously his heart/mind aren't in the game about getting fit, and thats the first issue to fix. Once he wants to live healthy we won't need this "vote" he'll do it on his own while still doing all his other work like the rest of the world does.

I love Steve but I think making it a poll, or saying that he would have to quit the show for a while is a bit of a cop-out. Everyone else has to deal with a busy, demanding work schedule and figure out how to fit in a healthy lifestyle. There are literally hundreds of people out there with similar jobs who are always on TV, blogs, podcasts, etc and manage to stay healthy. And he doesn't even have kids!

But I'll try to be constructive here and offer up an idea for Steve.

Steve, you do so many things between your podcasts and articles. If you really, truly, don't have a spare 30 minutes every other day, how about turning one of them into a joint effort between writing and a lifestyle change. There are many folks in the moto industry who struggle with their weight, or would simply like to be in better shape. And you have access to some incredibly knowledgeable people in our industry. So my vote is that you talk with Davey about turning one of your weekly articles into a vlog or journal about your journey and what you have learned. Get advice on exercise and diet from different experts, try them out and give us your opinion on what worked for you. I think people would follow something like that more than just random "virtual trainer" type articles that don't have the first-hand experience perspective. Tell us about how different trainers worked with you to adapt general principles to what you most needed. Tell us about what kind of advice and motivation they gave you. It would be fascinating.

But it's all up to you Steve, not us.

Dufuq am I reading? Show is like 9 years old with Podcasts from 2008 and he's been mentioning his weight ever since.

He isn't that big. It's not like he weighs 300 lbs of swinging rolls of fat and needs a walker and motorized shopping cart.

I mean, if he was that big, He'd be driving an F350 because the Ridgeline couldn't handle it.
