Pulp Mx app issues

Anyone have issues with the podcasts pausing by themselves then not starting where you left off? Or it will completely shutoff and itll start over? Do I need to redownload the app or what? Iphone 7 if that helps?

It did it on 3 different year Samsung Actives I have had. Has done it for years. Downloading it again won't help. At least for me and the 20 times i tried.

I just dl the archive and dont have any issues with that. That's my solution.

I just play them from the iPhone podcast app. No problems.

I’ve had similar issues! Also, sometimes the progress bar cuts through the fast forward button. So when I attempt FF to say the 44 min mark, I end up causing the progress bar to jump to 4 hr mark.

This week's show appears to be corrupt in Apply Podcasts too. I can listen to all other shows but it says this weeks is unavailable. I can listen via the Pulp app but having a bunch of issues with that as well. Mainly losing my place and not being able to pause. I have to force close the app for it to stop.

I always have problems with mine as well mostly trying to listen live. it just stops playing and I have to close it out and restart it for it to keep playing.

Yeah Pulp app isn't that great, I really only use it to listen live from my phone now. Just use the apple podcast app, it's a little inconvenient compared to having a dedicated app for all the Pulp content but it'll save you a lot of headaches.

Listening on the actual Pulp app was a total pain on the Android devices I had (Samsung S7 and S8) I don’t know if it was an Android thing or the apps fault but it would always just pause after a little bit and I’d have to go back into my phone and hit play.

I bought it to support them but I just use the default podcast app on my iPhone to listen to the shows now since that works seamlessly.

Have the same issue as well. I quit using that app and started using stitcher.

I've told Steve I'll try to get a few of the bugs squashed on the current version, I don't have any current timeline though. A full rewrite has also been started to update the app from the ground up but that's obviously quite some time away. The app sucks right now though, straight up.

These type of bugs are most likely to be with their hosting service than with your phone!

Lol the solo guy is not the problem. their hosting service might more likely be the issue. if you dont know crap about something, please keep it to yourself or try to learn about it!!

As for poser45xxxxx, if Steve had an agency build the app, there wouldn't be an app; it would cost way too fucking much. As it stands now, Steve already paid a pretty penny and was lucky enough to have a guy do the whole thing on his own. Because of that Steve got a good deal on it, but it still wasn't cheap.

A lot of the problems from the app not working is, by my guesses, due to old unreliable hardware. Now, I don't want to hear "my phone is old because I can't afford a new one" because my rebuttle is *TONY ALESSI SOUND DROP* BULLSHIT. If you can afford to ride a dirt bike at all, you can afford a modern cell phone from the last two years. If you're out here rockin' an iPhone 5 or 6 and expecting the app the function great for you, then you don't really understand the hardware and software marriage.

Modern software requires somewhat modern hardware.

I'm not sure how you handle it. I have a few high traffic ecommerce sites that are related to some hobbies of mine and when someone posts they are having issues with the site it drives me up the wall. Having things aired publicly sucks haha.

I respect what you do for Pulp, you have thicker skin than me for sure.

It stops from time to time for me also but if I don't do anything it will usually resume on its own. That could take 10 seconds and sometimes minutes. I used to have the issue where it would lose its spot but that hasn't happened in a while.

I'm sure Marx will be done working on that 2006 Honda before the next presidential election and he will resume working on the new app Smile
