How does the all star picks work? I picked tomac, roczen, plessinger, and musquin. It let all my picks through.

The way I'm reading it, is the handicap wont really be set up until next week, and it doesnt appear you can only pick 1 all star
You should only pick one all star, they can only get 25 points. When you pick someone other than a all star you could get up to 50 points. You’ll get more points picking an underdog but, risky to if they don’t make the main.

No, you first have to apply their handicap.

No, if the handicap is different you could get 1st place points s for all but you get double points if you pick a non all star and they make the top 10 with there handicap. Example if you pick Weeb and he is a 3 handicap and he get 6th, then you get third place points doubled.

Read the rules on the site or listen to the podcast. If a non all star rider has a handicap of 9, but finishes 17th, that gives them an eighth after factoring the handicap. You would get double points for 8th place. If they don't get inside the top ten after the handicap is applied, you don't get double points. The most points you can get from an All Star is 26, so you'd be foolish to pick more than one when you have a chance of up to 52 points with a non all star.

The site is lagging now, so I cant screenshot it. But none of the riders I picked have negative handicaps. Shouldn't be any until next week.

If I remember correctly, most are highlighted green and 1 or 2. Maybe I didnt read it correctly, but if it's a negative handicap it will be designated "-2"

Ahhh, I see @squirrelings if I pick a rider that's non all star and they come in 5th with a 10 handicap its 5th place points plus 10, and can come out more than the 26 points of a win

You are correct on the first part of how to apply the handicap, but you wouldn't add ten points for your score. You get double points for whatever position they get after the handicap is applied, as long as it's a top ten position. A non all star that finishes outside the top ten after handicap is applied will only get you the regular points. I think 11th position is 12 points. It goes off the amount of points the riders get toward the championship. 1st 26 points, 2nd 23 points, 3rd 21 points, etc.

No, 5th place with a 10 handicap cap is 52 points, non all star.

I can't even log in right now, their website must be under a heavy load?

I'm calling A1 to become a drop round now if this continues...

I didn't even catch that so my response is incorrect. I saw 15th place when I read it the first time. Laughing

What day and time will the Pulp Fantasy be up? My pick Friday 10:00 am. Come on Marx, I want to make my picks before another rider gets hurt. I think it’s JT holding everything up, he’s trying to figure out Jerry Robins handicap.
Just wait till he gets things figured out

Lets say your picks of tomac, roczen, plessinger, and musquin go 1-4 in that order. Handicap in parenthesis.

1st. Tomac (1) - he gets first place points 26.
2nd. Roczen (2) - 2nd minus 2 handicap = 1st. - he also gets first place points. 26
3rd. Plessinger (3) - 3rd minus 3 handicap = 1st. He gets first place points of 26x2 because he’s a non all star in the top ten giving him 52 for the day.
4th. Musquin (2) - 4th minus 2 handicap is 2nd. He gets 2nd place points of 22.

You must choose one all-star, but don’t really want to pick more than that because they don’t give you 2x points for a top ten.

What's the expert picks? Man, Pulp is making serious scratch off this I bet lol. After last season (first time playing), and how shitty I did, I told myself I wasn't going to pay to do it again, but with as much content as Steve puts out, it's kind of a no brainer. Just signed up again, and hopefully this season goes a little better than last.

I do not think you all realize the cost of the infrastructure that is needed for that site to run. After the first round, upgrades were needed, and I understand they brought in another tech to help Marx with immediate issues. They have to be running on multiple servers, Front facing servers will not (better not) be running the purchasing side, DB server will be separate, even if all VM's they will most likely be clustered with a premium set on bandwidth.

Not cheap.

What kind of scores did you guys get for A1? Yes you have to add it up manually or wait until Monday per the message on the "results" page. I believe I scored 268, Cianciarulo bit me on the first lap leader

I scored 290. I would have got 304 but I rolled the dice on first lap leaders and lost them both.

Who's running this site? All the results are still from last year motocross. How do we see our points?
