Does anyone on here have a Subaru WRX or a car like it that they use to get to the track? If so, what kind of trailer and hitch do you use? I'm thinking of trading my Toyota Tacoma truck in for a WRX and was trying to find the best way to get to the track. Any info or pics would be useful!
Thanks,

Just be careful with trailer selection. Luckily my ancient trailer stays pretty balanced even with 3 bikes on it it has just enough tongue weight.
Are you looking for a hatchback or sedan? I would recommend the hatchback for utility, and looks :D.
I'll try to dig up a pic of the setup.
Biggest issue is lack of space to race days etc. You need to load up the back seat as well as the boot.
Best picture I can find with the car in it. Sorry, not all that good, it gives you an idea though.

Anyway, are you thinking of getting the blob eye (2000-2002) or the bug eye (2002-2005) model? I'd go for the latter if I were you mate..
Hitches are available for cars that are not designed for towing. I was looking at buying a brand nes 2009 Scion B. There was not towing information but hitches are available for it. The resident tuner at the local Scion dealer said the transmission has taller gear ratios that aren't meant for torque and towing. I could hitch the car but would be bad news for the transmisison.
Don't have Subaru but I have towed using my 2009 Toyota Matrix S (2.4L with 5 speed manual). Says in the owner's manual it can tow up 1,500 lbs. The Matrix transmission is geared a lot like a pick-up, 1st gear is almost useless when empty. I can pull away from a stop on small inclines in 2nd gear without riding the clutch. 1st gear really only comes into play on steeper starts or when towing / full car of family and gear.
Put a Hidden Hitch on the Matrix (1" receiver) and use my old Northern Tool 4 x 8 foldable trailer (from about 1995).
Maiden voyage I loaded the trailer with:
- 2002 Honda CRF 450
- 55 gallon drum with wash water
- pressure washer
- 5 gal. gas can (full)
- Sears plastic tool tote (about 30 lbs.)
and put me (225 lbs.), easy-up, riding gear, stand, lawn chair and medium cooler in the car.
Got on a limited access highway with some steep grades (6-7%) and set the cruise control at 65 mph. The car had no trouble pulling the hills in cruise mode in 5th. Just put enough weight on the tongue and you should be good to go, as long as your car was designe to pull the load.
Hope this helps.
Using a Curt hitch.

But I got a jetta TDI, The my man is the way to go, WIth one bike on the back i get 35 MPGs,
With two it drops to 28 MPGs.
Running a 3 rail trailer, with a Curt trailer hitch on my car.
It's been a while, so I don't remember the exact model, but I think it is something like this:

It is pretty invisible when not in use:
I pull a somewhat beat up foldable 3-rail trailer. You can hardly tell it is there. Bike plus trailer is probably the same weight as a fat passenger.
I'd get one of these (TDI VW) rather than the turbo WRX...
You're good to go
Pit Row
Never a problem...... Of course I go through tires, chains and sprockets every other week LMAO
