Just went and sorta “Stole It” today. This thing is AMAZING & it truly has proper MX ergos. The 6 speed gear-box is perfect and I’m contemplating riding it on a track this weekend...
Breaking it in on a “Dinner Run” in Laguna Beach...
Can you do that on your R?
Btw, they’ve got a TLD store down here!
Cut-a-way of an SE4 at the Laguna TLD store
The lady that runs the place is super knowledgeable on all things TLD...

Honda got some pretty stuff coming out.
You will!
Bruuup!

I kid you guys not. Back in the day, when Bultacos and CZs were the hot setup, there was this guy that used to show up at local AMA dist 7 Motocross events. His name was Vernon. He would ride his Kawasaki Bighorn to the track.
They were I think 350 cc 2strokes, Enduro models. Might even have had autolube injection, didn't have to mix the gas.
He would take the lights off, run top 4 or 5, sometimes run up front even, in the open class.
End of the day, while everyone else was loading bikes into pickups and vans, he'd be putting his lights back on.
And then ride 40 or 50 miles home. True story.
How choked down is this thing and whats the cost? And in alot of places, you can plate a race bike with a 1500 dollar light kit and For 5500 bucks you can buy a KX or RM 450 and build a sick dual sport or supermoto on the cheap.
Also, "race kitting" a Husky or KTM ain't as easy as it once was. I know...been there, done that. The power on this doesn't seem much different than a stock FE-S. I'll know more when I put it thru some off-road abuse mañana.
I've ridden one, it's a great bike.
I would definitely be looking at the new Honda line up if was in the market for a dual sport. I bet you can get into one for a lot less than any of the orange bikes.

Working on a project with Malcolm Smith Motorsports and IMS. Waiting on an ECU from Vortex so we can map it correctly
Someone just took A LOT OF WEIGHT OFF!
The Honda is like a DRZ 400 Supermoto or dual sport. A turd stock. Opened up, with a different exhaust and carb, not a bad ride.
For the money though, a dual sport kit for a race bike is better, or get the KTM or Husky.
Change my mind.

Find a dealer to do the paperwork and you're G2G.
"To say the event went smoothly for our team would be a huge understatement. We started the race at 10 AM Saturday morning, changed three air filters, two rear tires, one front tire, and replaced the rear brake pads sometime in the middle of the night. That was it. Aside from those expected maintenance items, and of course filling it with gas, we didn’t touch the bike. We completed 47 laps around the approximately 9.7 mile course and finished 1st 40+ Expert and 10th overall."

If that doesn't change your mind..
Not that Honda couldn't, but like Suzukis DRZ, they choke them down too much. Who wants to buy a bike, then an exhaust, ECU, cams, heads, Hi Comp Pistons, fuck all that noise.
I know a few with Betas, bith 2 and 4 strokes. Good shit is all I hear. Solid bikes.
Got there and took off of my Adventure Jacket that was loaded down with water, phone, 1st aid kit...etc. & dropped my TLD Baja tool pack at the "OB Pits brought to you by Bud Light"...and...hit the Vet track!
Like I said...this is a street legal MXer...ESPECIALLY when compared to other "Street Legal Enduros" that're on the market. It was waaaaay beer on the jumps than ANYTHING I've ridden that comes with a license plate...EVER.
I added 1.5 turns on the rear spring, 2 clicks of Compression and 1/2 turn of High Speed Compression (all "IN").
I see that plenty of people seem to think the EXC is better..or...funnier still...that the EXC has the SXF engine/power/gear box: that's really very funny!
Better yet, have you guys ever taken that EXC PDS Suspenion out on an MX track?
I own Husky FESs(Linkage, thank you!)...they're EXCELLENT off-roaders; but, this thing is waaaay more "Moto" right out of the box. The CRF-L shock and fork are Worlds BETTER than the stuff on the other bikes you guys are bringing up.
I can't wait to ride Honda's new "X".
Post a reply to: CRF450L: Pssst, hey, over here, have you heard about Honda’s street legal Motocrosser?
