After that bad crash a few weeks ago, I cut my 13 year old son off from the 85cc that he was running. Today was his first race back on his new KTM 144SX with the big boys. I was nervous for him. Full line of mean sounding 4 strokes and much older riders. The gate drops and he just about took the hole shot.... he was in second at the first turn. So as I walked away from the start line to head back over to a spot where I can watch the race, I glanced back to see the first place rider scrubbing a jump and I am thinking... novice my ass!!!
Anyway.... I get back to my truck where I can watch the race standing in the bed of the truck and I almost got emotional when I saw this!
My boy in the lead and pulling away!!
as the race went on he started to slow down (little out of shape from being down so long and having to handle this bigger bike) and he also seemed to struggle in the whoops. I think the suspention is too hard for him, since he is only 125LBS despite being 5'10".
He took 4th on his first race. Not bad.... it was against a full gate.
So... ya, just though I would share my excitment.

Glad to hear that he is doing good on the new bike!!!

good stuff! He looks like a charger!
PS Love the Attack position in photo 1, pretty text book IMO!
(psst...just a friendly piece of advice, with no intent of offending you, R-acer...put a neck brace on that little guy!)
