Anyone else notice on the Roczen/Honda segment how they strategically used two stroke sound effects. HONDA??

Oakley also uses them in their new commercial with Tomac.

And the commercial for the RC two stroke YouTube video just seals the deal...

Yes, I’ll heard it in the Tomac commercial too

I might be in the minority but I think a tapped out 250f sounds pretty badass...

As for why they use 2 stroke sounds in various media, the frequency range that 2 strokes sit in works much better in an audio mix than a 4 stroke sound does. It's pretty simple.

You are in the minority no question about it

That’s cause you grew up with a cell phone in hand. You can relish in the good ol days cause you never lived em.

And totally agree....I’ll be doing something not paying attention to the TV and the RC commercial will come on and I’ll literally drop everything right when that thing starts and stare at the TV. Just today I was thinking, what fabulous advertising. You don’t need to hire Pieck or Barcia or Dungey. Save the money and just frickin kick a clapped old 96 cr250. Then say, Belkin cell phone cases. SOLLLLD

Ummmm, yes you’re still in the minority. 2 people doesn’t constitute a market, nor does 6 or 8. For the most part people love smokers and resent the sound of boring annoying soulless valves cams and chains clackin around waitin to blow up. #truth

Uhh, what? I own 3 two strokes and race a 125 by choice. Hell, I've even road-raced 2 strokes. I'm probably not as young as you think I am

A tapped out 4-stroke bouncing off the limiter sounds pretty fucking amazing.

Especially rounding a turn on Pikes Peak.

Lol.....well then I think you need to go out in the garage right now and stuff your face into the silencer for a fat whiff of blue smoke.

Possibly. It’s enough I have to watch all thumpers at every gate now, you’ll never pry the beautiful music from my cold dead throttle hand. A 250 bouncing the rev limiter is good sound compared to disco and rap music. But next to a big beautiful sexy expansion chamber there’s just no room for argument.

This is like the crowd saying Suburus sound better than Formula 1 cars.

They just dont want to admit that a piece of shit with a coffee can attached to a straight pipe does not sound good.

You sound like a crazed anti communist propagandist.. but with the noise a dirt bike makes..

|

1/7/2018 5:12 AM

Lol Is that bad?

|

I turn films off for shit like this, 4 cylinder sound track on an MX bike, 2 stroke when its 4 .. this is a sackable offence in my book.

Im there with both of yall 2 stokes sound pretty mehhh but a 250F just on the limiter is just heavenly!!

|

Nothing like a properly jetted 250 s stoke accelerating away from you.

|

1/7/2018 8:32 AM

I like the sound my dirt bikes make like I like my chicks, I love them all... except the YZ 450. That's a big fat fucking pig!

|

1/7/2018 8:36 AM

Couldn't believe the noises when I heard them, its this kind of low quality shit that makes us look like a traveling circus. Do you know the type of trailer park brawl that would go down in the infield of a NASCAR race if they heard f1 sound played over a NASCAR commercial?!!!

Editing guy: that is the sound "A" motorcycle makes.
Yes but that's not the correct one genius.

*Newcomer to the sport sees KR Fox goggle commercial with Honda 2 stroke sound* wow that’s badass I want to ride a dirt bike *goes to local track to watch before he decides to buy a bike or not* That’s weird, why does your bike sound different than the one off the commercial? Rider: Oh Honda doesn’t make 2 strokes anymore. ermm
