Anyone have any experience with ProTrax or other low priced tires? I’ve got a project bike I’m working on and looking for a cheaper tire to run in the AZ desert, mostly just playing around on trails. The ProTrax are about $100 for a set. (I usually don’t go the cheap route but this is a play bike so I was considering it)

I've used Artrax from Motosport for my 78 Yamaha DT 100, my daughters RM85, and my sons KDX 50. They're no Starcross, but for the price and their riding level and for the DT, it's a good deal.

I agree the Artrax tires are pretty decent for the cost. They do run small and are not the easiest to mount but they work good for play bikes.

I did Kenda from Motorsport price was around $115/set delivered.

I've used a set of Atrax tires on a 250F and it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Could I tell the difference between that and a Dunlop? YES. But at half the cost, I think it was worth it.

I used to run Atrax on one set of wheels for practicing/play riding and then a set of dunlops for race day.

Artrax has a set of tires that are 756 replicas. I can’t remeber which model it is- but I had them on a YZ 125 and it was like riding with Velcro- for a few days. But the sidewalls broke down a little and then they weren’t the hottest thing on the market but we’re talking about tire and tube sets for $100.

MXA and a buddy of mine in So Cal have said good things about STI tires. Shipped they are about $115 a set. I have a new set to mount and try on my Alta.

Thanks for the input guys, I didn’t even know about the Artrax or STI tires. I’m trying to decide between the two, most likely gonna buy the Artrax tonight but gonna look more into the STIs before deciding for sure
