Pro boot deals

I was always curious about these guy's boot deals. Are they given a set amount for the season and just run them throughout all the rounds, or new ones every round (but then they have to be broken in)? I remember Stewart saying that his Nike's were so worn out they had holes in the soles, but I know those boots were hard to get even for those guys.

It's rider preference. Some guys like james liked worn in boots and Dungey liked new ones each weeks

Im sure the top guys get their pick and could have new boots whenever they want but IMO I would want them broke in.

I recall someone having a pair of boots for races and a pair for practice. That way the race boots get used very few but they are "broken in"

If I remember right transworld did a report on milsaps when he was running for rockstar suzuki. He wore the same sg12s to all the races

i remember years ago MXA did a article on mC about the amount of gear the uses for a season..
i think he went through about 10 pairs of tech 8s.

My AXO guy in the '90s told me that Jeff Ward wore one pair of boots in a season. All races, all practices, everything. One pair! I guess he hated the break-in process.

Sidi doesn't have a "break in" time frame. You are starting to see all the off road guys switching to Sidi and a lot of the sx/mx racers (Baggett/Weimer/Tickle/etc) are heading that way as well.

Very good boots in my personal opinion.

The fox instinct has zero break in, even less than the sidi.
All the top guys in the fox boots have tons of pairs.

A lot has to do with personal preference. I'm sure some guys like to always have new boots and others like theirs really worn.
