Unreal! I'm looking for a 2005 or newer YZ250 and the prices these guys are asking is ridiculous!! Saw a few 03 and 04's for $4000, 05's for $4500 then a 17 for $5200. If someone is asking $5200 for a super clean 17, why would you try to get $4500 for your 13 year old yz250? Are people actually paying that much for a 13-14 year old yz??
The Shop
The more I look online, the happier I am with my purchase. I had a lady tell me in person I was making a bad decision for not buying her extremely clapped out '01 for the the same price
Also get a ktm
People think yz250s are gold for some reason. I could see a 2005 cr250 or kx250 going for $3000-$3500 but not a yz by any means.
I bought a pristine, 3 hour 2013 yz 250 f special edition for $3600..
I really don't know what people are actually paying ,but when I signed up for my 2017 yz 450 f...I would have had to pay $500 more to buy the yz 250 two stroke sitting next to it on the dealer floor..and there were no 1% finance options for that bike either...you can get the 4 stroke on a1% loan but the 2 stroke has a $500 higher sticker price and a 19% pa finance option..
It's a strange world we live in..

Pit Row
This one is advertised in Atlanta for $3900
ps the kickstand isn't included
suspension was done by pro valve Nick. Set up for a 200lb novice, has a titanium rear spring, oversize disc, (you can have the stocker too) "Flo" pipe made by randy Blevins, semi fresh geo max's gold chain, supersprox and some assorted bling
I got a new 2016 for $7,500, paid it off in about a year and a half, and kept it mostly stock. With a Boyesen RAD Valve and Air Wing, front rotor, and 9oz. FTW, it hauls ass and works great. I can go faster on a 450, but am having fun and I believe going at a safer speed on the YZ. At my age (35) I just want to be safe and have fun. Keeping the kids at bay is a nice thrill, but I'm not going to wad myself to stroke my ego.
Doug Dubach (YZ Master) said on a podcast that good used YZ250s are hard to find, so I imagine ones in good shape hold a good price point. I bought new to keep my credit current.
It is interesting that McGrath wants two-strokes to return, RC did a cool video on an RM, and Reed got a 2016 YZ to work on as a project bike.
