This is one inspiring kid. His dad, Jim Wadsworth, was an old family friend who was killed in a motocross crash two years ago.

Very cool story. Hits very close to home. Good luck to him and his mom.

What impresses me the most, is that Riley is still (minimum) four years away from college himself, yet he's raising money for scholarships so other kids can go.

Sully are you from Montana? I live in GF.
I looked up to Jim (went by JJ back then) back in the 1980's when I started racing. He kicked ass on 80's and then kind of tapered off when he got on the big bikes. That was a sad day out at Rainbow Raceway last year when he had his accident. Riley has alot of courage that's for sure.

No, my dad was born and raised there, and I lived there for a couple of years when I was a kid – that's when I met JJ. I also used to spend summers there during the 80's. He hauled ass on an 80, and was plenty fast on a 125 too. From what I was told, he had a crash that scared him pretty good and he gave up racing for a while. I'm not sure of the details, though, since I hadn't talked to him in 20+ years. It hit me pretty hard when I found out about his accident.

JJ was a badass dude.. I was born and raised 17 years in Great Falls.
He was a HARD working man, always seemed to be a great father, and
slow or fast, you knew he was having a blast on any given day. Whether it was
a weds night race, monday night with his kids, or on the weekend. He was
always at the track. RIP Jim, and keep that attitude Riley, it will pay off bud.
