i still think that press day is an unfair advantage to the handfull of riders that get selected. maybe if they could only hit the triple it would be better, but these guys are riding the whole track.

What are they supposed to do for the press? Stand around and tell them how they'd do that jump and explain what they mean and what it would look like?

I attended a press day and believe me, the press that was there had no clue of what was going to happen. Then they got on the bikes did a small section and the press was im"pressed" and all giddy as they took video and were really wowed by what they saw. It was reflected on that nights news cast on how excited they were to see this, good exposure and hopefully it got Dad to want to take the kids to see the show.

These are pro's and any pro will have things figured out in practice anyway. I really can't see much, if any, of an advantage.

Do you not think Stewart has not had this track in his back yard for weeks already, his crew is probably building next weeks track right now. All the track maps are on the net, and all the tracks are cookie cut any way, and with his money and facilities I don't see why he wouldn't have it that way.

Yea.....dirt conditions. Given the choice for tires this year, knowing the dirt conditions in advance helps a lot. GENIUS

I don't really believe that if Stewart and Reed didn't ride press day, that it would make one bit of difference in their race results. But, it would be nice to see some privateers gettin' some extra love on press day.

It was cool to hear the raw sound of the bikes without people talking and dubbing noises added

The press days, then the newscast (that I'm watching right now) goes a whole lot further when it comes to reaching out to the very casual or fan who had no idea what supercross was than the "voice of god" 30 second monster truck/supercross TV AD's that always air.

Just let the riders ride a few lanes (that are still unfinished) and let the TV cameras roll. BIg deal.

I was noticing that too.. Grant tripled it at the end, he was already sizing it up and with the long setup straight away. I would say yes?? But braking, it will have to be pretty sticky on the landing.

Exactly what I was wondering. I bet the majority of them were doing it by the end of the day, you could Villo taking a peak at it

Press day is only an advantage for guy's who haven't figured Supercross out and those guy's don't belong in the show right now. it has no bearing on the outcome of the main event unless one of the top guy's hurt himself.

There was some different dirt between the landing of the triple and that four-pack of jumps. I'm not sure that there won't be an obstacle added between those two sections. The whoops were still missing on a section leading to a triple on the far side as well.

They change the tracks many times after Press day's especially if they see them doing a section they didn't intend to be done.

People have to remember they have a huge liability if a bike gets into the stands and try to limit the bonzi type jumps that lend to that happening.

The privateers from that town usually get to ride on press day.

Is it just me or does the start look jacked? Looks like there will be about 2 good gates and the little weave before the first turn will make that section one lined and hard to pass. Guess we'll see tomorrow, it could look different in reality.
