Predictions for Chad Reed

Podium, but realistically top 5. One more asinine tweet with poor spelling from him, and I will retract that lofty prediction. Smile

Provided he has stayed in shape since SX ended I think he can go top 10 overall for sure. Can't imagine he would be doing these races if he felt unprepared. I know it's a Monster commitment but hopefully he is taking it seriously. Chad Reed 2011 nationals come to mind.

Reedy 2011 would be battling for a win even. I hope a good result for him, but top 10 is going to be hard.
Farrrr out his starts have generally been dog shit for a long time know... Twitch fibre goneski. Still riding good for his age. But 10-15. Maybe running top 5 for a couple laps until a fade back.

He is a smart guy/rider. He picked these two rounds for a reason. Knowing reed his mind set is he can win. I predict a top 3 overall from him. Just think of all the times you guys think he is done, and bam he's fighting for wins. Just think he has 2 weekends... timed practices, qualifying motos, and 4 motos. He will have them figured out.
Shall we wager on that? I've got a crisp $20 that says he will be outside the top 3 overall...

10-15 with a lot of bike/track excuses, maybe even a takeout or two.

Yeah, I agree to "never count Chad Reed out" but I don't see the guy being on the same level as Febvre the other fast youngsters leading the GP's right now...or even Cairoli for that matter. Chad's a stickler for setup & is a really mental guy too...so I'm going to guess he'll finish right outside the top-10.

No matter wich position he ends up, It's still very cool that he is racing in MXGP.

What do you guys think? I think he will have a hard time and finish outside the top 15. That would be kind of normal, because of the fact that Chad didn't race a lot of outdoors the last few years. But You never know with great riders like him.
That's pretty accurate

Agreed. The "racer" in Chad will obviously want to place up front...but this isn't about points. Cool to have him there.

Chatting to Chad last night, asked how he thought he was going to do. "im only here for fun and these guys are all really fast" was his reply.

I'd love to see him top 10 but personally I think 18th or lower I have a feeling.

I'd like to see him do well personally R22 was a favourite of mine growing up, loved him on the YZ250 Smile

On a sad note I should actually be going to Materley to watch the race today but a buckled rear wheel on my KXF needs re-spoking so my money has to go there Sad

I would like to say top ten, but realistically I think 15 to 20 would be a pretty good result.

He will get 3rd in first moto then second Moto bad start and finish 7th bam there my prediction. Go reedy and have fun all that matters.
6/18/2016 6:37am
I think top 5 is out of reach, but I would be surprised if he could not get a top 10.
6/18/2016 8:16am
If I was only contracted as an SX guy, better know I'm not pushing the pace to beat Gasjer.

I think Reed will do better in the GPs than AMA, and not because I think the GPs are easier, but because he does better the more technical and rutted and rough a track is. The different track conditions in the GPs were something RV had a hard time adapting to, I think those same conditions play into Reeds strengths.

I still dont think he can get into the top 5, but you never know with Reed. I think top 10 is most likely.

looking at his laptimes from quali race , with a good start he should be in top 10 ...

I don't think he'll DNF a moto. I think somewhere between 10th and 12th

Difficult to call really, can see why people think he may not get such high results but there again can see him doing what Chad Reed seems pretty good at and that is often surprising people when they may have written him off. Me being one of those people I must admit on more than one occasion.
