Ive been wanting to get parts on my bike powder coated but everyone around me charged wayyy too much. So i decided to just buy everything i need to do it myself. Got a nice powder gun, a giant oven and working on a sand blast cabinet. So I've been doing small stuff and random stuff for my friends. But last night i took apart my front wheel. I don't have any pictures of it before, but it was chrome rim, silver spokes and silver hub. (stock 2013 rmz rim)
Heres how it turned out. Theres still four spokes that i need to lace into the wheel but i left them at home (built the wheel at work this morning)

Here it is!

Yes. I was having a problem deleting ol Ray too. This site can be fickle sometimes.

I would have left the spokes alone (are they white, i'm color blind) and used something with less than 20% gloss on the hubs, something like this ignition cover.

Thats looks good but I'm a fan of high gloss. Shiny looks expensive and fancy. Spokes are white. Silver spokes look so plain.

Might look nice for now, but unfortunately powdercoat chips really easily as im sure you know. You might be lucky and fit the tyre without taking a chip out, but soon as you hit the track and some dirt/stones they arent gonna look too great very quickly

Luckily for me though, I can recoat it and can tear down/build the wheel myself. I figured whenever i get new tires ill just spend a night to redo them and make em look good again. lol

If it's not a silly question, doesn't the powder coating chip/wear/compress and hence your spokes come loose?

Get yourself a silicone plug kit and some tape specifically made for PC. You shouldn't be getting powder on the bearing bores.

Yea I've got it on order. I used a fine grit sand paper to get it all out. I had it taped off but some powder snuck in on this side.

Heating aluminum to those temps softens it. I have pictures of the folded GSXR wheel somewhere around here to prove it. That was a shitty day for me.

Looks good man. I can appreciate the work you put into the whole process. It's your wheels, you paint them how you want. Who cares what others think. Most like looking like the rest of the sheep.

I think you are either buried in snow or injured and can't ride.
Spending that same amount of money on gas would have made you faster than clown wheels.

I understand he asks if we think the end result looks fine/profesional. Not if we would choose the same colors for our bike!

They look very good man! I'm no expert tough.

Not to mention they will look like shit in no time no matter what type of soil you ride in. I just am not a fan of powder coat on wheels. It looks bad, doesn't last, and adds weight to an area that you should not be adding weight to.
