I like Pourcel. He's super fast and has a shit ton of heart. But I don't see it working out too well. I could be wrong. But, I just don't see it going well.

Matthes and the Jasons did say the 250F class would be his best shot at a title and that is what he wanted to race. So the Alessi team thing isn't too far fetched. The thing I have trouble seeing is how team Alessi is going to obtain the level of equipment that Pourcel would want/need.

There have been rumors since the last few weeks of the season that Valli and MCR were pursuing Pourcel, and that he wanted a 250 outdoor only contract.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a lot of drama involved the last time when he tried to race for MCR?
Seems a bit weird to me but hey, stranger things have happened.

This thread should go the same was as ALL the Reed threads as pointless till something official comes out BUT it would be great to see him on a bike again - if true maybe this is his preparation for move to 450's

Oh my. Both TA and CP have been accosicated with more than enough conflicts, combining the two of them might not be the best of ideas... I like seeing CP back, but I fear this attempt will not deliver, and if his career wasnt already done, will a next try be realistic? Sorry for being pessimistic, but I'm actually holding back...
But I guess sometimes crazy ideas work...

That'll probably take the most hated team in the pits to the most hated team in history...

Talk about putting your reputation on the line once and for all! Guess MCR is the only ride left for CP. No doubt he has stupid skills on a bike, and is a potential podium...probably moreso than Alessi, so why not?

Kinda crazy, when you think about all the issues he had, sx would seem like a much better option. Maybe money is getting tight and its time to get back at it.

It's starting to sound like Pourcel is going to be next years JLaw...and you can take that to the bank.

It would be interesting but I do not think it will happen. CP even deleted his facebook fan page ...

A shame: when you have the speed, the talent, it does not go away overnight.

CP always stated he liked a reasonably stock setup - he did over there and he did over here last year and previously. I dont see the kit being a problem, bring him back and let him smoke em.

if this happens it will be one of the best stories of the year

I was watching the vurb classic on Saturday when Tony Alessi was doing a interview during some motos and Tony stated Pourcel would be Mikie's Teammate for 14 and he would be on a 250 for outdoor Nationals only. He also said Mikie was riding the 250's in the off season to be able to ride as much as possible this off season and if I remember correctly he said Mikie would be back on a 450 with CP on a 250 for the 14 season.

Well, he voluntarily signed up to ride a Yamaha YZ450F with Motoconcepts and then quit the team because of the bike. One might therefore deduce that "the kit", as it were, was indeed a problem.

CP has already mentioned last year that he wanted to finish the business in National lites, but I do not believe the rumor, exactly like RCH joke.

About CP, my hypothesis is that it is more about Yami/Kawi. Nothing personal on MCR. I know it is the great time of controlled oligopoly where competitors are friends (well except Apple & Samsung), but I would be a manufacturer I would not hesitate to win market shares at any price. Kawi won a lot in this story, after being ridiculized by Reed & Honda's deal.

he quit because "the bike was trying to kill him"

they were his words I believe.

Like i said - "a reasonably stock setup", i never mentioned the bike - i commented on your statement about the team being able to supply the level of kit CP would want. Deduce from that what you will.

A kit. Like suspension. They are just being confusing haha.

Honestly unless tony was jumping the gun it sounds like a done deal, like the other poster I heard it announced at Vurb classic.

I have no question if they will have a good enough bike. The bike mike was riding was freaking ridiculous, (kiesels bike on the other hand sounded a lot different.)
