My ten year old boy, who's crazy about MX, asked me watching the races Saturday how fast do the pros ride during a race. I tried to explain to him that no one has a speedometer on their bikes, just like his KLX110, so I didn't know how to answer the question. Telling him that it's a drag race between corners didn't seem to placate him. Anyone have an answer that I could pass on to him. Thanks

On the fastest straights I'd estimate around 55-60, average is probably 25-30

1st is fastest. 40th is slowest. You’re only as fast as your last race. Tough one. But, mph is irrelevant in racing. It’s all on time...

I believe it takes 47mph to clear Larocco's Leap at RedBud.?
