Should have started a Niner thread lol. sweet bikes!

This was after my first ride on my home trails with it a few weeks ago. A friendly gent from Texas gave me a beer for being a trail guide. The SS hanger worked well.

I didn't have a picture on this laptop but when I searched for it on Google a re-call came up from 2003 about frames snapping which is about the time I got it. It is still perfect condition but dam.

Nah, e*thirteen XCX SS.

They are very light for the cost. I'm wanting to get a second pair for backup since they are discontinued for '14.

Both are the same year and model. Long story, but I got a deal I couldn't refuse to trade in both of my 26" bikes. I ride so often I'm glad I have both now. I like the white one better, but that's just because the wheels are lighter and slightly better than the black ones wheels. Oh yea, I also prefer platform pedals, freaks people out. lol

2013 Specialized Demo 8ii
2012 Specialized Enduro Comp

The demo rocks up at Northstar, i started on the Enduro riding all mountain/downhill and blew the seals in the rear shock really fast! Both are great bikes for their intended purposes.... The Demo just puts a smile on your face flying downhill!!!!!

This is my bike. I have had several downhill bikes, a few all mountain full suspension, and a few hard tails, not to mention my trying my friends bikes. By far this piece of shit mongoose is the most fun bike I have ever owned. But that is not the most surprising thing. This bike is actually the fastest bike I have owned for about 80% of the trails I ride. The only faster bike was my Karpiel Disco Volante and only on moderate to severe downhill terrain.

No magura, not sure about the discs, needs new front pads, otherwise work great!

Cannondale Gemini 2004 with Lefty.... still going strong and still far better than the rider. Try and take it with me when I'm doing the GP schedule so it's been around a bit on a whole load of different trails

This is my '91 Alpinestars cro-mega after it came back from the frame restorers. I will have to find some pictures of it now (i.e. 98% built-up).

I thought those were the coolest ever when I got into mtn biking in ~1992 or so.

I don't take a lot of pic when we ride. Trek Fuel 70 from mid 2000s. Still works like new. Have been doing about 6-10 miles a day with my gf to lose weight. Or maintain 185...

Agreed! As an impoverished college student in the early 1990s I could not afford an Alpinestars. Instead, I was riding this:

I still ride it today:

Suspension? Pah!

I bought the cro-mega frame/fork/stem/bar on eBay. The bottom bracket was seized in the shell, and nothing would shift it. We even broke the vice in my local bike store in the process:

At this point I should have said "enough". Instead, I did what any self-respecting idiot would do, and sent the frame away to a restorer (Argos Cycles). They installed a new BB shell and did a stunning respray. Naturally, I spent far more money than was sensible, but the result was worth it. I nearly cried when I opened the box!

It's been rebuilt with mostly NOS Shimano DX components, and I've also got a set of Manitou 2 forks which I'll fit if the fancy takes me. The wall on my office will look empty if/when I decide to get rid of it.

Sorry for the mini-essay :-)
