Possible knee injury for Villopoto ?

Edited Date/Time 4/15/2014 10:28pm
"But even as RV was winning and closing in on that milestone title, I’m hearing and seeing that he may not be 100 percent, and he has a knee situation that may need correction as soon as the series-ending Las Vegas Supercross happens. Needless to say, I really, truly hope that’s not the case."

Guess the outdoor champion this year will have an asterisk by his name, huh?

I really hope this isn't true for RV's sake as well as mine as i was so looking forward to watching the BEST riders at Glen Helen duking it out. Fingers crossed he will be fine come GH .

No. Asterisks only exist on knees and the imaginations of some Vital MX posters.

I don't get it.

If he's fine now, why not just at least have a crack at outdoors. It's not like he can't always go out and get it fixed if it goes bad. He's still the favourite and supposedly is only gonna race one more year.

That's what I'm saying. If you are only racing one more year, hold off. It could be that he can't train like he needs to and outdoors that would be a problem.

Hell we haven't heard that it was his ACL. If it's just a scope then he could wrap it up tomorrow night and then have it fixed. That would give him a tad over a month to be ready to go. That should be about enough time for a scope to heal up. LOL

He's over it, and has so much $ and doesnt seem to give a shit if he has the most wins (except 4x sx champ) and outdoors are grueling. I'd stay home and be at the lake beer bonging and kush bonging too, when your bank account has that many commas why torture yourself rather than enjoy life. Injury or not he calls the shots and MC only did SX at the end of his career too, but he called the shots at that point in his career as well. Disclaimer: this is IMO

No such thing as an asterisk. You race who lines up, and when you win you earned it. Doesnt make a damn who is, or isnt not there. A win is a win.

When he went down the corner after hill hit him, he seemed to be struggling a bit to pick up his bike. My first thought was that his knee was toasted again. I wonder if he tweaked it on that little get off or if it was a different time.

MC was a very good, but not great outdoor rider... RV is a great outdoor rider. I think he would like nothing more than another outdoor title.

Maybe some people just get tired of the slurp fest from RV fans like yourself. Lenny is a breath of fresh air compared to the constant posts that some of you huggers go on about. Just saying.

Having said that, I sure hope RV isn't hurt. Most importantly, he's had enough injuries for a lifetime and secondly (less important), the nationals need the best riders out there.

I believe he already did that one year...decimated the troops at the GH opener, then hurt his knee, tried racing round 2 and then hung it up and had surgery. I could see him sitting out the outdoors while he has his knee scoped, then returning next year to win his #5 SX title.
