I know it's still early, but I'm losing hope in him being ready for the outdoors. 5 total surgeries... damn.
Bro he's out for the rest of 2017. The gate drops at hangtown in 115 days. He's not even going to be on a motorcycle by then. He's got multiple surgeries ahead still. Let's be realistic. 2017 is done. He needs to rehab and let's hope and pray he's back to 100% for SX 2018.

I'm not saying this out of any negativity. I love Ken and the edge and personality he brings to the sport. He's awesome! I'm pulling for him big time!

That's gnarly! Pretty cool how he's keeping us updated on his repairs. Certain other riders could learn a thing or two about the power of scial media and keeping their fans informed on their daily struggles. Ken is going to have a hell of a cheering section when he comes back from this.

I've always been a big Dungey fan but I sure hated to see this happen to Ken. I hope he makes a full recovery and comes back just as strong as ever.

Those are some nasty looking pics. Had to be careful taking a quick glance at those.. I can easily get queasy looking at those.

ugh.

The things he has going for him are that he's young and positive, and has a massive fan base that he seems to get energy from. Hopefully he puts it to good use. In contrast, JS7 has the world rooting for him and he seems to get no motivation from it.

All the guy has to do is get on a bike ever again and ride it and I'll be super impressed. It's unbelievable how tough the top-level guys have to be. I hear all the time about how talented they are but it's just as important to be superhuman at healing and injury rehab get well soon Kenny

Doctors always have you up and moving after the first day. I had a rod put in my femur around midnight and was up on crutches 4pm the following day....albeit not voluntarily

As someone else stated before, I believe this is done intentionally (fasciotomy) to relieve swelling. Swelling can cut circulation and cause more problems, especially after this much surgery.

If a compartment has a pressure > 30mmHg or there are signs of compartment syndrome then you proceed with a fasciotomy. "Fascia" covers muscle bundles and/or divides a limb into several compartments. The lower leg is the most complex from this stand point. Either way, the long incision on the inside of his arm is likely a fasciotomy due to swelling.

On a side note, I believe that this is what they do for arm pump surgery.

That's a good question. I'm not sure. Someone else might be able to chime in here.

no bleeding due to a tourniquet cuff on the upper arm during surgery? Operating Rooms are aseptic (or at least should be)

edit: I think he had a good nap at the time the pictures was taken
