Going for the first time after wanting to go forever, Staying at a roach inn that is in walking distance. Those that have been before, what time should I get there ? Bring cash?? Thanks for any advise for a first timer.

I believe they mentioned last week gates are opening at 2pm since it's going to be a big turnout rather than the usual 4pm. In addition, normal parking entrance is for racers only this week, the other parking out back will be where everyone else parks. Bring cash... I know the food carts/concessions allow debit/credit card, not sure if this weekend will be more packed and have vendors selling on top, so I'd bring cash in case. I have only gone to the normal PIR nights this year, showing up at 5pm when practice started was always fairly straight forward. I'd imagine showing up early for this... 4pm? I'll let others answer

I see that Mr. Sipes is in ! Please, locals, give us some pit shots, girlie pics and an updated roster of racers, thx ! Attended this thing in 2012, it’s been happening since 1971 !!!!). You can take the trolley from downtown, too. What an absolutely thrilling affair. I think they sell beer, too !

We will be there for sure. Fresh Start Racing is putting up a $500 hole shot prize for all 5 Beginner classes so I plan to line up for the 50cc class and take home the $$$$. Smile

I'll try to get some photos and vids to post tomorrow. It'll be late before we get home.

I'll have Mayson (#815 CRF150)with me too from the "A little help in Sacramento" thread so stop by and say hello. He's racing 85 Beg and Supermini with my boy (#500 KX105). We are usually parked on the asphalt over near the 3 flag poles. Red F150, black trailer.

As an amateur, it's the only place I'll ever get to do a gate drop with 5000 people watching. It's pretty cool when you run the Sunset Strip section and the fence line is packed solid with people yelling. Really unique and special.

PIR is the shit!! My buddy’s dad is the announcer and kills it. Last time I was there I think mike horban or week won it. Potter and Udall wadded in the whoops together that night, last time we saw potter race pro
