We went riding yesterday. I saw him laying under his bike so I went right over and got the bike off of him. He said he couldn't breath and was really hurting. We got him off the track, I figured like usual after a few minutes he would be ready to ride again. Not this time, after about 20 minutes he told me that he wanted to go home. He has never wanted to leave a track before. We checked him out and it looked like he banged up his ribs, he was wearing an EVS Ballistic Jacket. Took him to a local walk-in Urgicare joint. They X-rayed him and nothing was broken. He is one sore little bugger though, still wants to ride. Really pissed that he has to miss gym class today.

Having the wind knocked out of you is a terrible feeling. If it wasn't for not being able to ride for a while I would almost take a broken bone over it.

Bummer to hear that! Hope he's feeling better soon and back on the bike.

Are you guys still racing BMX? My kids started doing the BMX thing this summer at South Park (near Pittsburgh) and they are digging it more than moto (at least for the moment). I love the fact that they can register, practice, run 4 motos and be done in about 2 hours.

Yep, still doing BMX, you should check out Presque Isle BMX here in Erie, super nice facility. We raced South Park once for the State Championships, scary track. BMX is super cheap too compared to MX.

Stick to bmx. Motorcycles are too dangerous.
I prefer to live vicariously through other racers.

Why would you be pissed that your kid is missing an activity because he hurt himself riding?

Joey was mad that he missed gym, he is feeling a little better every day. I am just happy he is ok. He played Wii baseball today.

We'll probably hit Presque Isle next year and maybe the tracks near Jamestown (my wife's family is from the Buffalo area, so that's a good excuse to go visit them Smile )

No kidding on the price - $20 bucks gets me entry for two kids, snacks from the snack bar and 50/50 tickets.
