I may have misheard, but listening to the hangtown review podcast, Steve mentioned that Aaron might now be staying at Star next year as they have matched or bettered the KTM offer?

Anyone else pick up on that or I am I hearing things? I thought it seemed like the KTM deal was locked and loaded.

I heard it too. Yamaha might be using the first right of refusal

Yeah, What a huge (and impressive) team. Tomac, Ferrandis, AP plus a full 250 squad, and finally a bunch of amateur guys.

Plus Craig riding 450 outdoors aswell, so 4 guys lol.

If this is true, who do you think KTM try and get in instead of him or do they stick with Coop and Marvin for another year then go from there?

If a team pulls the right of refusal card, I would think it would create some animosity between rider and team?

Doesn't that just mean they have the right to match but if KTM ups then it's back to them?

Or it shows the rider how much the team appreciates them and is willing to pay top dollar for them.

I can’t blame him, the Yamaha looks to be a far superior machine outdoors

Keefer said possibly Joey going to Red Bull ktm if AP doesn’t

KTMs cant make it top10 outdoors now and Yamaha is winning.. With same money staying would be good for him.

Joey Savatgy? What would happen to RM/ATV Ktm team?

|

6/22/2021 5:23 AM

AP is also 3rd in points !! Guy is doing great this year, happy to see him do so good.

No. Grown ups know and appreciate how business works. Holding a grudge isn't going to work out well for the rider and he knows it.

The above may be fact or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting. I am not sure, you have no chance.

Anstie would be a perfect fit.

I hope he stays. He's been so good this year. It's nice to see blue 450s actually getting some results.

That star 450 seems to be the bike to be on right now.... that used to be ktm... I can see ap staying...

As well as Round 1 Pala.
3 races so far, 2 overall wins.
Not a bad showing for the 'Blue Pig'

Why? I think he would feel appreciated and valued.

AP was making the change originally based on the bike he rode the past two years. Fast forward and to Star taking over. He had his old team he loves back running the show. The bike turns around significantly and so do his results. AP is very happy with his current situation and one can only imagine he would be really happy to stay.

If they want to finish between 12-14 every week

Star would be nuts to let AP go at this point.

|

6/22/2021 7:25 AM

I think it would be awesome if he stays. He is top notch, dude, great rider on a team that he has had a lot of success with. It's called Star racing after all, might as well have as many on the team you can get.

It more like they have you by the balls. Its now stars decision if he leaves and not AP's

Yamaha has well over a hundred thousand employees/contractors working for them already...One more would be fine with me smile. They should get Mr Baker too. DV would also be a good addition.

I've always disliked Yamadogs, but you have to respect what star is doing. It is great for the sport.

Just like the old days. The teams were pretty big in the 80s.
