Anyone have the scoop on the pits for Atlanta this year? I would hope or assume it wouldn’t change. But that is a little hike from the old arena.

Wondering the same thing, I just hope they did there homework about location etc. I dread the new stadium honestly, I've been going to the old GA dome for over 20yrs and now everything is different. I hate change! LOL

I had wondered the same thing but looking at the Google satellite view, its not as different as I thought. They basically took out Georgia Dome Drive that was on the south side of the dome, and re-routed a portion of MLK drive to make room for the new place.

It's definitely further, but not too bad. Essentially it's now the length it was before plus the length if you were able to walk straight across the Georgia Dome. Not 100% sure if it changes the route for the riders/teams though. With the Georgia Dome, you would go outside to a covered area, past some of the loading docks and through a door on foot or a garage bay on a bike. I never went past that door, so I'm not sure it still connects all the way through to the new dome but the outside looks to be a pretty similar layout on the street level, so it's possible.

Holy shit.... That's going to be a haul! Especially for fans running to and from the pits between qualifying sessions

I'm pretty sure the pits are in the building above the one marked "Pits" I don't feel the lobby area you line up in is as wide as that top building and I know there is more than one entrance into the pits. I only see one connector between those two buildings.

Actually I could be wrong because there's an escalator to go up a level to get out of the dome side thus two levels so this aerial may be misleading for me seeing two separate buildings. The lower level may be below the ground level you can see there?.

With 20 buck beers better get two plastic pints of turkey 101 and a pair of old school knee high tube socks to stash them in.
