Suck it Lommel.

Too bad California gave all our water away to the Delta Smelt.

There or the Oregon dunes. Pine trees and sand dunes.

Or Huntington Beach the week of the US Open of Surf. Mid July. Bikinis and dirt bikes.

Dune Fest is a shit show up up there but their "Grand Prix" on the dunes was damn fun.

I remember a couple of Vital guys participated in the Cantamar Grand Prix

Hell NO! We don't need another shitty California track on a flat beach with next to 0 elevation. There's a LOT more tracks out there with deeper sand than Southwick. Southwick is NOT deep. It has about 4-5" of loose sand on top and then a really hard base. Grantsburg, WI on the other hand has about 10"-12"+ of soft deep sand before it gets to a harder soil. Looking at the speeds of Southwick tells you how shallow that sand is...

I'd be totally find with a pancake flat, bottomless sand track, because the challenge would be the sand itself...no need for big hills or off cambers when going fast over the big whoops and bumps that develop is challenge-and impressive-enough.

Seriously.

I was at the WORCS events there. Lost one motor myself and have several friends that also lost motors.

It seemed like it would be so fun...it wasn't.

It is not easy to keep it upright at Pismo when it's the blow-sand. (windy)

Been awhile since I watched that video posted above. Man oh man could Bobby Garrison ride a bike, dude was silky smooth and wicked fast at times, good dude too. (He's the one on the Yamaha who wins for those that don't know.)

I remember a photo of Everts at a race in the middle east that was in sand dunes, I dont know if it was a GP or if it was just an exhibition race for royalty. I think it was in MXA or Motocross Journal. Someone has to have some more info on that race.

You sounds like someone who's never been to Pismo. There's plenty of elevation there, huge bowls, and as much salt as there is in your post.

They could do one easily at one of the several sand dune riding areas along the Oregon coast.. only 1.5 hr from the airport (PDX) and it’s freakin beautiful out here in the summer time. Unfortunately I think most of it is state parks so that probably complicates things.

And you can’t do so much as fart without getting a ticket from the rangers around here LOL.
