Me at the Weston Beach Race a few years ago (far right). Over a thousand riders each year. It’s pretty wild going down the straight at 90+ mph and semi-blind from the spray.

Ironman Gncc usually tops out at around 1000 for the am bike race. I think they had 800+ quads too.

If you're a city person and are not comfortable being alone, these races make perfect sense.

Weston does get a big turn out... 1200 in the main race this year plus 400ish quads and 30ish sidecars and youth races with 60-70 in each class... it’s a big busy weekend.

We were at the Skegness beach race over the weekend too, numbers don’t run into the 1000s but it’s still a big event and great fun...
