Remember we make these track look better than they really are. Ha! Beat you to it. Wink

Multi-time world vet champ Zoli Berini sr. showed the kids around the track for the parade lap. The guy is in his mid 70's I believe and still rides all the time.

First time for a national in Edmonton and the turnout was pretty darn good.

Start of the first moto for the MX2 class

Aaron Harvey leading Kyle Beaton on the bottom, while the others play catch up.

An overview of the pro pits from the top of the budweiser beer semi.

Dusty Klatt's Cernics Kawasaki.

Tyler Medeglia's Rockstar Suzuki

Colton Facciotti getting ready for the first moto. This kid is hauling ass right now.

The Monster Girls getting their pre-race instructions

Another shot of the monster girls.

Kyle "the Welder" Keast and Colton on the line for moto 1

The dirt looked awsome. The local oldtimers club took care of the track and turned a flat field into an awesome race day facility.

The pit board says it all. Colton in cruise mode.

Dusty Klatt getting interviewed after finishing second in moto 1

Tyler Medeglia getting his holeshot check. He finished third in the first moto I think.

Frontal view of the monster chickas

Panorama of the track

Ryan Lockhart chasing Broc Hoyer in moto 1 through the mechanics section

The younger Medeglia brothers. Both podiumed today.

Nick Evanou(sp?) railing a berm

Kyle Beaton on the gas. This kid wouldn't have any luck if it weren't for bad luck. Still ran well today, but off the podium.

MX2 Overall Podium
1. Harvey 1-1
2. Maier 3-2
3. Medaglia 2-6

You guys think you have trouble filling gates. The MX1 class gate was half full for this round.

Colton Facciotti and Blair Morgan flying in formation

Colt styling with the lead in Moto 2

The welder drops from the sky in moto 2

One of the mid pack guys (#295) airs out the double (same jump as last two pics shot from a different angle)

The welder on the gas. For a guy who races part time in the summer he rode fantastic today finishing as high as fourth in the second moto.

Dusty Klatt chases the part timer Keast in the second moto

Colton Airs out the finish line jump.

Unknown rider (might be Gibson) at the finish line.

We that's that. Glad I live in a hick town because I have one monster farmer's tan after today. I remembered the camera, but forgot the lotion (ouch!).

Awesome pics.

I was there too (you can see my buddy in one of the pics of the stands).

Amen on the farmers tan...I wanted to fit in with the young crowd so I wore my hat backwards. Now I have a half pale white forehead and a nice outline of my sunglasses.

I thought the crowd was great. especially for competing with opening weekend of capital X.

kudos to Zoli!!! 76 years old and still going strong!

Too bad its super far from me. Its closer to fly to most USA MX events than it is to fly to the west end of Canada to watch this. i dont know why they stick to the west only... Ontario is where its atWink

I attended the event as well. I got taken out in my quali and never seemed to gain back momentum. Oh well I had a blast up there. Wild Rose is a much better track but its much better for fans and teams at Edmonton.

You wouldn't happen to have any more pictures of your fellow vital member would you? I remeber two laps in a row having to stretch it out on the 450 because of some nasty hardpack-chop before the take-off. The track was good for being flat, real high speed with awesome dirt.

Good pics. Dang, that jump is HUGE. What's up with Klatt? Is he getting slower, or is the competition getting faster?

I hope the Canadian series stays in full swing. And, I hope it's on TV soon!!!!!
