They all suck, time to clean house. Usually you don't do something for that long and get worse at it. Ralph is unbearable, Jeff has a perpetual ice cream headache, Blair is ok but think he's a legend. Carmichael was better when he was in the booth before he got yelled at for observing things that weren't on the screen. Weege, McGrath and Langston would be a big improvement.

The worst was the Las Vegas race last year where they were 100% oblivious as to what Tomac was doing holding up the pack.

As a person that has issues with studdering/speech, I commend him for having the stones to even attempt announcing. A public speaking class almost single-handedly kept me from obtaining my degree, so I can’t even fathom the type of stress that must incite.


Full disclosure, Emig will always hold a soft spot in my heart for being one of the most genuine, heartfelt people I have met related to the sport, so I will always have his back.

Carmichael I always liked, David Bailey would be epic or Art Eckman if hes still alive. Alessi even did pretty good when he announced that one time. Definitely not villopoto because he hates the sport. Maybe Dungey? Or Jessy Nelson I think would be good since he became paralyzed and for a while he was really in a bad spot and depressed I think that would be very good for him.

Jeff Emig has turned himself into the consummate color-guy for his sport, and with all due respect to Daniel Blair, he isn't on the same level with Jeff on credibility or charisma. That's fine if you don't like Jeff, but you should show him respect for him to come from a kid who had a horrible stutter, to a 4 time ama sx, MX, champion who still had a stutter, and with determination and desire became the long time color commentator for his sport. I think Daniel is good doing what RC does at the races, but I still prefer Ralph and Jeff, although I'm not sure how well the producers\directors understand the sport, as the shot of the action often cuts to another shot at the wrong time, all the time, and they haven't gotten better in at least 2 years.
