I don’t think it’s out of the question.

I was just thinking about this. Laughing I’d love to see him on team PR. I think a healthy, determined & want to prove a point Chad is a threat. He said he’s been training hard for the MXoN Aussie team so at least he’s healthy & in shape. He really could be a better option.

Has this ever happened before where a racer w/ dual citizenship has raced for the country that they were not originally from?

So he gets passed over by the Aussies and tosses his US citizenship trump card out there to ride for PR? Sounds cool...do it. How crazy would it be if Marvin did the same? This could get silly...oh wait...

There was an application proces riders had to follow to be in the running to get picked for AUS...Im wondering if Reed even filled out the app? He said he never asked to be picked, just expected to be picked...

2018 MXON Team Rider Applications Open
JULY 4, 2018 FILED UNDER: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS, MOTOCROSS, NEWS

You are here: Home / Motocross / 2018 MXON Team Rider Applications Open

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is calling for applications from elite Australian motocross riders to join Australian team at the 2018 FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN).

Often called the ‘Olympics of Motocross’, the infamous event often exceeds all hype with an electric atmosphere as capacity crowds cheer on their nation’s best. The FIM MXON is held at Redbud, United States of America on October 6-7, 2018.

MA is a long-time proud supporter of Australia’s national teams and will be providing financial and administrative support for the team again in 2018. Applicants are advised that there will be some rider contribution to costs required in 2018.

There are three classes available for riders to nominate for: MX1, MX2 and Open. Riders are advised that they can nominate for more than one class.

Please ensure you advise below exactly the class you are entering. There is no maximum age for the MX2 class.

Michael Byrne has been elected Australian Team Manager for the 2018 MXoN. More information on the event can be found at: http://redbudmxon.com/

It is anticipated that the time away will be approximately 7 days, with final details still to be confirmed.

Application forms for team rider positions are available to download here, and must be returned by COB Friday July 27, 2018.

Applications and enquiries should be addressed to:
Matthew Falvo
Motorcycling Australia
PO Box 134
South Melbourne, VIC 3205
offroad@ma.org.au

Further information can be found on the MA website.

Stop. He's not a threat at all.

I didn’t mean for the win, but when the stars align he could definitely put in a good finish for PR on. Woohoo

Hey, what about all the guys out there that like to have a few. That like to chew. That like chasing tail.

Dont deny it, there are a lot of 18 to 30ish guys out there, that participate, spend and therefore support this sport,
that do the above.

What about them?

Don't the unwashed, don't the deplorables get at least one guy to root for?

Everybody getting their freak on about swapping 22 for Mac, how about this.

There are, who knows, how many Territories with the USA alone.
Do what the, ah, I don't want to say undesirables, the fringe known this year as The PR a Team did.
Contact Guam or somebody and put a team together.
If it's not too much to figure out for them.

And as far as the the rest of the argument, if you have internet, or even cable TV, there's a lot worse there
than what's on a guy's swing arm.

Do you not have an American whos earned it? Anderson? Baggett? Or someone else?
I dont care about dual citizenship after moving as an adult. Aus or Canada or anyone else wouldnt do that.

You can look at a guys hands to tell how good of shape hes in. Thats a great way to tell if someone can last a moto, let alone 2.

Imo if you 've raced for one country you should never be allowed race for another .

I'm sure if he gets asked, he would. All the years he's raced here,
all the fans, why not race the MXDN for USA Team 2
aka Team Puerto Rico.

I hope it is out of the question. It's generally bad policy to give whiners what they want; it only encourages more of the same.

if reed REAAAALLLY wanted to race des nations he wouldve started riding and jumped into a race sooner.

just like any other rider who has shown how bad they wanted something they went and made it happen

Exactly! Dean Wilson and Justin Barcia are great examples of that!

Last I heard CR22 had a 2 stroke project bike he was building. He could get out there for PR on a two stroke and fit the team vibe. I'd rather see CR racing MXoN than Jimmy Monk.

Boom. Why reward someone. He should have raced some outdoors. When was the last time he finished 2 motos of an outdoor race? Gp? He got waxed.
