Fantastic year! Made a fan out of me!
For me, with his MXdN win he‘s now in consideration for Mount Rushmore!

I don't care if Tomac doesn't win SX next year. I m closing the Tomac book because when i remenber 2017, a lot of people were on his back except some vitards like Jorge Chavez ect and back in my mind i was thinking that Tomac could win 2 SX titles and 4 MX titles. So to me, as a fan, i m bless. Thank you Eli Tomac, my life was better because of you. You are a legend of the sport, one of the greatest.

Fair, but that’s why I put perfect in quotes.

Gotta leave room for the actual “perfect season” of going undefeated in all 3 categories! Woohoo

Haha yep, the guy used to take quite a bit of heat on here and I’ve spent quite a bit of time defending him but I always knew you had my back when doing so. It’s been awesome to watch him throughout his career, bitter sweet to see it winding down but at least there’s SX next year.

It’s up there with RCs 2005 and RV’s 2011 as the best years ever

So stoked for Eli – as good as he's been he's never had the double title year, let alone topping it off with the MXdN. Helluva year for an all-timer.

He's had some incredible rides at the MXdN in particular too, but teammate performances or bad luck first turn crashes hampered the results, so glad he scratched this one off.

When he left Kawi I said he was done. Lost his hunger. Had a kid. Not willing to take the risks to win championships anymore.

I’m glad I couldn’t be more wrong.

Legendary season!

I’ll happily eat crow tonight!

Props to Eli on an amazing year !

He won a moto and Just stayed there in the last moto. Judging by his speed he showed it looked more like a don’t blow it moto. Besides on the resume you put MxDN team win.

I think him and Sexton both had more in the tank. They did what they needed to do to win.

Sure, even Eli will be able to tell you riders in the past that went 1/1, or riders with star performances like Villipoto, O,Mara.

He wanted it bad, because it does matter.

Eli has cemented himself as one of the goats in 22.... absolute legend... still feel privileged to have seen him rip in person at the world juniors in Taupo nz 09 I believe. Been a massive fan ever since, he deserves all the accolades.

Tomac is levels ahead of O’mara. He rode conservative in the last moto. There was zero point in pushing for an individual honer with a team championship on the line. He mentioned this in the Vital interview. SX, MX and MxDN win in the same year hasn’t been done in over a decade. That’s the accomplishment.

How many riders have gone 1-1 at MXON? I bet Tomac and Jett both wanted it. But Tomac knew there was no passing the top 5 on that track so he didn't even risk it.

I’m just wondering where the people are who said Tomac should never be asked to race the MXdN again a few years back. First moto win at the event for the US since 2016.

I remember every preseason JT$ and the boys would pick Eli. I also remember JS7 thought he was a class above the rest. He finally proved it. As RJ would say. This guy is a gamer.

Is there he chance for Eli to still do both rounds of WSX, or are teams pretty much full right now? Imagine if he would win WSX and Paris aswell, what a legend.

I saw this yesterday! Have we ever seen Tomac let loose like this? Really happy for the guy. How much was Kawi stifling this man's joy for riding a bike? He's like a different person.
